Program Manager I, GCOI
Description
Grocery Catalog Operations and Intel (GCOI) is responsible for catalog operations across Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, Quick commerce and Grocery Partnerships businesses. The team ensures product catalog accuracy, completeness, and compliance across online and in-store grocery platforms, directly impacting customer experience, search relevance, and supply chain efficiency. GCOI manages over 100+ operational workstreams spanning new item setup, catalog defect resolution, attribute validation, and merchant onboarding support.
We are looking for a Program Manager to own catalog defect resolution and readiness execution for Whole Foods Market within the Grocery Catalog Operations and Intel (GCOI) team.
This role is the bridge between the specialists who execute catalog operations and the program and product managers who own the systems behind them. Specialists escalate to you when the SOP runs out. Program and product owners come to you when they need to know what is actually happening in the catalog. You will drive ASIN-level defects to root cause, quantify blast radius, document what you find, and carry recurring failures to the teams that own the fix.
If you like dive-deep problem solving, want to build program management depth in a business where catalog quality is the constraint, and want to be the person holding the real answer, this role is for you.
Key job responsibilities
Bridge catalog execution and program ownership: Own the escalation path for ASIN-level catalog defects that exceed existing procedures, driving each to root cause or a confirmed accountable owner
Absorb volume during spikes and coverage gaps rather than only routing it, so the team's SLA position holds when inflow exceeds plan
Convert operational symptoms into problem statements that program managers, product managers, and engineering partners can act on
Speak for GCOI in defect triage forums and cross-team working sessions, supplying the operational evidence no partner team can see from their side
Land partner and product decisions back with the specialist team in executable form: what changed, what the new handling is, what to do differently from the next ticket onward
Own the documentation trail for every defect you drive (investigation path, root cause, resolution, prevention) and author or refresh SOPs so the next occurrence is resolvable without escalation
Execute assigned catalog readiness tasks, from ASIN creation through attribute validation, against defined workback schedules
Mentor Catalog specialist and Automation Leads on troubleshooting methodology and catalog tooling, raising what the team resolves without escalation
