Senior Software Engineer

Position Summary

Are you ready to start a new journey with a team of energized professionals advancing and connecting the world’s infrastructure? Bentley is looking for you! We are looking for a senior software engineer to join our Asset Operations Team working under a software engineering manager.

Responsibilities

Build React front-end components and .NET APIs.
Develop business logic using C#, SQL Server, and REST APIs.
Maintain and enhance existing applications built with ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS, and SQL Server.
Design secure, scalable solutions using proven design patterns and SOLID principles.
Break down complex requirements into deliverable work with accurate estimates.
Troubleshoot production and support issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions.
Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Conduct code reviews and collaborate through Git-based workflows.
Use AI-assisted development tools effectively, including creating prompts and validating generated code, tests, documentation, and technical recommendations.
Identify and correct inaccurate, insecure, inefficient, or low-value AI-generated output, including repetitive prompt loops, hallucinations, and excessive token consumption.
Establish development best practices and evaluate new technologies and approaches.
Translate technical concepts into clear recommendations for Product Owners, Support, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders.
Manage and track work through Azure DevOps.
Collaborate with global teams through Microsoft Teams, email, and virtual meetings.
This is a full-time role based in our Pune, India office with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Multiple years of experience developing web applications using some or all of:
ASP.NET
React
C#
.NET Core / .NET Framework
SQL Server
REST APIs
Microservices
Experience mentoring junior developers.
Strong understanding of design patterns, SOLID principles, software architecture, and root cause analysis.
Experience using Git and Azure DevOps in an Agile development environment.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar technologies.
Ability to craft effective prompts and critically evaluate AI-generated code, designs, and recommendations.
Ability to recognize incorrect assumptions, security risks, inefficient solutions, and unproductive AI interaction patterns.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.

This is a Hybrid role.
