Role Description

The Head of Data Engineering is a full-time, hybrid role based in Chennai, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role leads the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data platforms, pipelines, and architectures that support AI and analytics initiatives for enterprise clients.

Key Job requirements:

This is a hands on coding role. Not a vanilla people manager ask, rather " Lead By Example" need.

We want a young, high-energy engineer who wants to scale fast, working directly under Sr. Execs who are masters in Data Eng.

You Must Be Hands-On Expert In:

SQL / PL/SQL & RDBMS Internals:
You know how / RDBMS engines work inside. Tuning, execution plans, partitioning.

Python + BI + Dialogflow CX/ES
AI Engineering: RAG, Vector DBs [Oracle/pgvector], Sparse Indexes, Embeddings - built to production.-
Cloud-Native: OCI GCP or Awspreferred - BigQuery, BigTable, Firebase/Firestore. Or equivalent hyperscaler.
Note: Interview will require writing code. So if you are uncomfortable this is not the role.

Profile:

7-10 yrs max.

Builder, and a lead by example manager.

Master's preferred.

Must have Professional-level DB/Cloud Certification [GCP Professional Data Engineer / Oracle OCP etc]. No / Associate certs or Udemy or Coursera certs.
