Full Stack Developer – AI

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to build modern, scalable, high-performance

web applications. This is a hands-on role for someone equally comfortable across frontend and

backend, who understands how to build applications properly from the ground up, from database

design and backend services through to responsive React interfaces and third-party integrations.

You will use AI coding tools to speed up development (code generation, refactoring, testing,

documentation and debugging) while having the technical depth to understand, validate and take

responsibility for the code produced.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain full-stack web applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js and PostgreSQL.
Build well-structured RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services such as payment providers, CRMs and analytics platforms.
Design, implement and optimise relational databases, including data modelling, indexing, transactions and query performance.
Work with PostgreSQL extensions such as pgvector for semantic search, embeddings and AI- powered features.
Build secure, reliable and maintainable backend services, and responsive, accessible user interfaces.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the frontend, backend and database layers.
Contribute to architecture and technical decisions rather than simply implementing predefined tasks.
Use Git, Docker and modern workflows for source control, code review and deployment.
Troubleshoot complex problems and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
Work closely with developers, designers and stakeholders to turn requirements into working products

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years commercial experience in full-stack web development.
Excellent TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+), with strong React and Node.js experience.
Experience building production-quality APIs, including authentication, authorisation and third- party integrations.
Strong SQL skills: joins, indexes, query optimisation, relationships, constraints and transactions.
Solid database design and data modelling ability.
Demonstrable use of AI coding assistants to improve productivity.
Strong Git skills and experience with Docker/containerised development.
Familiarity with Linux environments, SSH, processes and cron jobs.
Strong debugging, problem-solving and software engineering fundamentals.
CI/CD and deployment experience is advantageous.

Desirable

A clear understanding of the limitations of AI-generated code and the ability to review, test and improve it.
Interest in building AI-enabled applications using embeddings, vector databases and LLMs.
PHP, and exposure to WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify or PrestaShop (useful, but not the focus of the role).

requirement and turn it into a working technical solution, make sound architectural decisions, and

design a database rather than simply consume one. You write clean, maintainable code, learn new

technologies readily, and use AI to work faster without compromising quality. You take ownership,

work independently, communicate clearly in good conversational English, and can work UK/EU time

zones when required.
