Job Profile: Senior IT Transformation Program Manager
Location: Chennai, India
Experience: 7.1-9 years
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Transformation Program Manager to lead large-scale, complex IT transformation programs in a global and regulated environment. The role requires a combination of strategic planning, program governance, technology and operations expertise, financial management, and senior stakeholder engagement.
The ideal candidate will translate strategic objectives into actionable transformation roadmaps, oversee multiple workstreams, manage delivery risks and dependencies, and ensure measurable business outcomes while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational readiness.
Responsibilities:
Transformation Strategy and Roadmap
- Translate business and technology strategies into integrated transformation roadmaps and target operating models.
- Define program scope, business cases, benefits, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria.
- Prioritize initiatives and track progress throughout the transformation lifecycle.
Program Governance and Delivery
- Establish program governance structures, integrated plans, decision-making forums, and delivery controls.
- Coordinate multiple projects and workstreams, managing dependencies and resource requirements.
- Ensure delivery within agreed timelines, budgets, scope, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- Manage program finances, vendors, risks, and benefits realization
Technology, Production and Release Readiness
- Integrate architecture, infrastructure, release planning, security, resilience, and non-functional requirements into program delivery.
- Oversee production readiness and the transition from project delivery to business-as-usual operations.
- Coordinate service acceptance, knowledge transfer, support models, and post-release stabilization.
- Apply IT service management, Agile delivery, DevSecOps, and transition-to-run practices.
Performance and Benefits Management
- Define and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and measurable program outcomes.
- Analyze delivery and operational performance to identify trends, risks, and root causes.
- Recommend corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
- Track and report quantified business benefits and transformation outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement and Change Leadership
- Build alignment among senior executives, business leaders, technology teams, and external partners.
- Prepare executive-level updates and facilitate governance and decision-making forums.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve escalations effectively.
- Drive adoption of new processes, platforms, operating models, and ways of working.
- Lead geographically distributed teams across complex stakeholder environments.
Must - Have Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in IT, including significant responsibility for large-scale transformation programs or portfolios.
- Demonstrated end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-year, cross-functional programs with significant organizational and technology change.
- Strong experience in program governance, portfolio coordination, financial management, resource planning, vendor management and benefits realization.
- Proven ability to operate in regulated environments and embed risk, security, resilience, compliance and control requirements.
- Strong understanding of IT operations, service management, release management, Agile delivery, DevSecOps and transition-to-run practices.
- Experience engaging senior executives, sponsors and governance committees, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence decisions.
- Experience leading geographically distributed teams and managing complex internal and external stakeholder networks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience delivering transformation in banking, wealth management or another regulated financial services environment.
- Experience in consulting, operating-model design, process improvement, data-driven performance management or organizational change.
- Prior software-engineering or production-management experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities
- French language proficiency is an added advantage.
Certification:
- At least one recognized program/project management certification: PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, SAFe, Agile, or equivalent.
