The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services.

Who you will work with

• BCN Labs is a Center of Excellence (CoE) functioning akin to a small R&D boutique startup within the Bain ecosystem, delivering end-to end data-driven client deployable solutions across a wide variety of sectors and industries.
• BCN Labs work directly with other CoEs and Practices within Bain as part of the Expert Client Delivery system and interface with global teams across.
• BCN Labs is first and foremost business thought partner working on intelligent ways of using analytical techniques and algorithms across the spectrum of disciplines that can enable building world-class solutions.
• Our goal is to build a disruptive high-impact business-enabled end-to-end analytical solutions delivery system across all verticals of Bain.

About You

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 6+ years of relevant professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics, or AI (5+ years with a relevant Master’s degree), including experience leading technical workstreams and providing technical direction and mentorship to junior Data Scientists.
• Proven hands-on experience developing Data Science and AI solutions, with strong foundations in statistical modelling and Machine Learning and meaningful hands-on exposure to Generative AI and agentic AI applications.

What you’ll do

• Lead Data Science & AI Workstreams: Lead Data Science and AI workstreams from problem definition and solution design through development, evaluation, and deployment, working closely with business stakeholders and engineering team
• Hands-on Data Science & AI Development: Remain hands-on in developing models and prototypes, conducting technical deep-dives, troubleshooting complex problems, and reviewing critical components of solutions.
• Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning: Design and guide solutions across statistical modelling, Machine Learning, forecasting, optimization, NLP, and other advanced analytics techniques, selecting appropriate approaches based on business problems and available data.
• Generative & Agentic AI: Design and build GenAI solutions using LLMs, RAG, semantic search, tool calling, and agentic workflows, making informed choices across models, prompts, retrieval, context, and orchestration approaches.
• Evaluation & Technical Quality: Define appropriate evaluation approaches for ML and GenAI solutions and ensure strong standards around modelling rigor, experimentation, code quality, reproducibility, and solution reliability.
• Technical Planning & Problem Solving: Translate business problems into analytical workstreams, estimate and prioritize technical tasks, identify technical risks, and work with the team to resolve implementation challenges.
• Mentorship & Team Leadership: Guide and mentor junior Data Scientists through technical direction, modelling and code reviews, and structured problem solving, helping them build stronger technical capabilities and operate independently.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, domain experts, and engineers to understand requirements, communicate analytical findings and technical trade-offs, and develop solutions that address real business needs.
