New Product Development Manager

Role Description The New Product Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Coimbatore, responsible for leading end-to-end development of new products within SVC’s manufacturing and engineering portfolio. This role involves identifying market and customer needs, translating technical requirements into product concepts, and coordinating feasibility studies in collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams. The manager will oversee project planning, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring prototypes are designed, tested, and refined for manufacturability and performance. Daily activities include working with cross-functional stakeholders, managing documentation and specifications, monitoring project risks, and supporting continuous improvement in processes and product design. The role also requires maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers, gathering feedback, and ensuring new products align with business objectives and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Research and Development (R&D), with experience driving new product initiatives from concept to launch.
• Knowledge of Food Technology and Food Science, preferably with exposure to product formulation, safety, and regulatory considerations in the food industry.
• Proven Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cross-functional coordination.
• Experience in or familiarity with the Food Industry, including manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and supply chain considerations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Food Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to interpret technical data and customer requirements.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, quality, and commercial teams.
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; exposure to precision machining or metal fabrication is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
