Job Description

The Front Office UI Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust UI automation solutions for front-office applications using Playwright, Node.js, and modern automation frameworks. The ideal candidate should have 5–7 years of experience in software testing and UI automation, with strong hands-on expertise in Playwright, Node.js, automation framework development, and CI/CD integration. This role involves close collaboration with manual QA teams, developers, business analysts, and project managers to automate test cases and ensure high-quality software delivery. The engineer will focus on Fixed Income trading workflows, test automation framework enhancement, regression testing, and continuous integration to support reliable and efficient application testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Automate UI test cases based on requirements and scenarios defined by the manual QA team.
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain robust UI automation scripts using Playwright, Node.js, and related frameworks.
  • Integrate automated test cases with test management, reporting, and defect-tracking tools.
  • Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of automation frameworks in alignment with architectural guidance and engineering best practices.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive QA strategies, test plans, and test cases from scratch.
  • Validate front-office applications with a particular focus on Fixed Income trading products, workflows, and business processes.
  • Collaborate with development teams, business analysts, and project managers to ensure quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and support continuous testing practices.
  • Provide clear and concise reporting on test execution results, defect status, QA progress, and quality metrics to management.
  • Independently troubleshoot complex application and automation issues across different environments.
  • Coordinate end-to-end project delivery between client stakeholders and internal offshore teams, including managing client queries.
  • Maintain effective written and verbal communication with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Turnaround Times (TATs).
  • Develop reusable automation components, maintain test documentation, and continuously improve test coverage and execution efficiency.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in software testing and UI automation engineering.
  • Strong practical experience developing and maintaining UI automation frameworks using Playwright or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js, test execution, defect tracking, and CI/CD integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver automation solutions within agreed timelines.
  • Experience in financial services or Fixed Income trading applications is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
