Job Description

We're seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer who combines in-depth technical expertise with natural leadership abilities. This is primarily an individual contributor role, but you will drive technical excellence, mentor other engineers, and influence our frontend architecture and practices. You'll take ownership of complex AI interface challenges from real-time collaborative environments to adaptive UIs that intelligently respond to user context and AI-driven insights. You'll work at the intersection of product design, AI capabilities, and engineering excellence. Responsibilities: - Lead the development of sophisticated, AI-native interfaces using React, Next.js, and TypeScript. - Architect and implement complex frontend systems for real-time AI workflows, streaming responses, and multi-state user experiences. - Drive technical decisions and establish best practices for frontend architecture, performance, and maintainability. - Mentor other engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing. - Collaborate with AI engineers to design API contracts and interaction models that balance technical constraints with optimal user experience. - Prototype and validate new interaction patterns for AI-powered features. - Own significant portions of our frontend stack, from initial technical design through implementation and iteration. - Balance immediate product goals with long-term technical quality and scalability. Requirements: - 5-8 years of experience building complex web applications with React and TypeScript. - Proven track record of technical leadership guiding architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and driving technical quality. - Deep expertise in modern frontend ecosystems: build tools, testing strategies, performance optimisation, and state management. - Experience with real-time web technologies and their application in data-intensive interfaces. - Strong product sense and ability to make technical decisions that serve both user needs and business goals. - Experience working closely with product managers and designers to translate complex requirements into technical solutions. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to cross-functional partners. - Tech Stack Core: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, State and Data: Zustand or Redux, React Query, real-time data streams. - Testing: Jest, Cypress, Playwright. - Infrastructure: GCP, GitHub Actions, Datadog. - AI Integration: Streaming APIs, WebSockets, real-time updates.
