Sr. Software Engineer – Backend Development (Node.js)

JOB DESCRIPTION- Backend Engineer

Experience- 3 – 5 yrs

Location - Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Remote

Responsibilities

• Work with development teams and product managers to ideate and develop backend solutions.
• Design and maintain scalable server-side architecture.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Integrate databases and ensure efficient data flow between systems.
• Write efficient, reusable, and secure backend code following best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade backend systems and APIs.
• Optimize application performance, including database query optimization and caching.
• Ensure proper security and data protection measures are in place.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for backend services.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Requirements and Skills

• Proven experience as a Backend Developer.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js and Express.js.
• Strong working knowledge of MongoDB and SQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming, middleware, and error handling.
• Good understanding of authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth2) and security best practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for deployment and storage (S3).
• Experience with Git, Postman, and version control practices.
• Knowledge of Python for automation or backend scripting is an added advantage.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical mindset.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Good to Have

• Experience with Docker or containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with Redis, message queues, or microservices architecture.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
