We're hiring: Plant Data & AI Engineer (on site, near Cuttack, Odisha)

Assidious builds Pluribus Plant, software that helps heavy-industry plants cut coal, power and downtime using the data they already record. We are starting with a steel plant near Cuttack, and we need an engineer who will live close to the plant, work with its kiln crews, and turn plant data into rupees saved.

What you will do

  • Pull and clean data from the plant's historian/SCADA, lab, shift logs and SAP, and keep it flowing every day
  • Build and run the data pipelines and analyses on Azure Databricks: campaigns, stoppages, coal quality, temperatures
  • Sit with shift in-charges and the DRI team, explain what the data shows, and record what was done and why
  • Measure results against an agreed baseline and prepare the monthly review and quarterly savings statement
  • Spot the next area of the plant where data can save money, and scope it with its head

What you bring

  • B.E./B.Tech in Chemical, Metallurgy, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Science
  • 2 to 5 years working with industrial or time-series data
  • Hands-on Azure, mostly Databricks: PySpark, Delta Lake, Jobs/Workflows and Unity Catalog, with Azure Data Lake Storage
  • Working knowledge of the rest of the Azure stack: Event Hubs or IoT Hub, Azure SQL or PostgreSQL, App Service or Container Apps for REST APIs, and Key Vault
  • Strong Python (pandas) and SQL; comfortable with machine learning basics such as regression and anomaly detection, and with MLflow
  • Comfortable on a plant floor: shifts, safety rules, PPE, and the occasional night shift
  • Clear communication in English and Hindi; Odia is a strong plus

Good to have

  • Experience in a DRI, steel, cement, power or process plant
  • Exposure to DCS/SCADA historians (OSIsoft PI, Rockwell FactoryTalk or similar)
  • Databricks or Azure data engineering certification
