Business Intelligence Developer (Power BI)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer with 8+ years of experience in business intelligence, data visualization, reporting, and analytics. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, SQL, DAX, data modelling, and developing enterprise-level dashboards and reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Develop complex DAX calculations, measures, calculated columns, and KPIs.
• Build optimized data models using Power BI and Power Query.
• Write complex and performance-optimized SQL queries.
• Integrate data from multiple sources into Power BI.
• Perform data transformation and cleansing using Power Query/M.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
• Translate business requirements into effective BI solutions.
• Optimize Power BI reports, datasets, and dashboards for performance.
• Implement and manage Power BI Service, workspaces, datasets, refresh schedules, and security.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) where required.
• Troubleshoot issues related to reports, data refreshes, data models, and performance.
• Follow BI development standards, governance, and best practices.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, developers, and business teams.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of overall experience in BI/Data Analytics.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
• Advanced knowledge of DAX.
• Strong experience in SQL.
• Good understanding of data modelling, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
• Strong experience with Power Query / M.
• Experience with Power BI Service and Gateway.
• Knowledge of Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience in report and dashboard performance optimization.
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure data services.
• Knowledge of Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, or Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience working with large datasets and enterprise BI environments.
• Knowledge of BI governance and deployment practices.
• Experience with Power BI deployment pipelines and source control.
