Data Engineer (1 - 3 years)
We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong programming fundamentals, excellent SQL skills, a solid understanding of data structures, and awareness of modern AI/GenAI concepts.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable solving problems independently and writing code without relying heavily on AI coding assistants.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize data processing solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable Python code.
- Design and write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Work with relational databases and understand database programming concepts.
- Apply data structures and algorithms to solve technical problems efficiently.
- Participate in designing scalable and reliable data solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams to understand data requirements.
- Explore and contribute to AI and Generative AI-based use cases where applicable.
- Troubleshoot data and application-related issues and improve overall performance.
Required SkillsPython
- Good understanding of Python programming fundamentals.

SQL
- Very strong SQL skills.

- Ability to independently write and troubleshoot SQL queries.
Data Structures & Algorithms
- Strong understanding of common data structures such as Arrays, Lists, Stacks, Queues, Hash Maps, Trees, and Graphs.
- Ability to write algorithms or implementations for commonly used data structures.
- Good understanding of problem-solving, time complexity, and basic algorithmic concepts.
AI & Generative AI
- Good understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI concepts.
- Familiarity with LLMs, AI-assisted development, prompt engineering, and common GenAI use cases.
- Interest in applying AI/GenAI capabilities to data engineering and enterprise solutions.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to or hands-on experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake is preferred.
- Familiarity with modern data platforms, cloud-based data engineering, and large-scale data processing would be an added advantage.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipelines is desirable.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a similar technical role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
What We Are Looking For
We are particularly looking for candidates with strong fundamentals rather than tool-dependent knowledge. Candidates should be comfortable demonstrating their Python, SQL, data structures, and problem-solving skills independently during the interview process.
Experience with Databricks or Snowflake is preferred but not mandatory.
