About Kefilo

Kefilo is building a NutritionTech and personalised wellness transformation platform where food is used as a medium for nutrition, healing and long-term lifestyle transformation.

Kefilo combines functional nutrition, food science, personalised wellness, technology, AI and intelligent food manufacturing to develop products and systems that can deliver personalised nutrition at scale.

Our current R&D focus is on building the Nutrition Intelligence Engine and a Dark Factory for Food — creating a technology-driven, standardised and scalable approach to nutrition and food product development.

Role Overview

We are looking for a FoodTech Product Owner who can take ownership of food products from problem identification and concept development to formulation, testing, manufacturing, launch and continuous improvement.

This is a founding-level role for someone who can bridge food science, consumer needs, product development, manufacturing and business and turn ideas into commercially viable FoodTech products.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Product Strategy Identify product opportunities based on consumer needs, nutrition requirements, market gaps and Kefilo's long-term NutritionTech vision.
• Product Concept Development Convert ideas into clear product concepts, specifications, target users, nutritional objectives and product requirements.
• Product Development & Formulation Work closely with food scientists, nutritionists and food processing experts to develop and refine formulations.
• Nutrition Intelligence Integration Connect food products with Kefilo's Nutrition Intelligence Engine to enable personalised product recommendations and nutrition-driven product design.
• Product Testing & Validation Coordinate trials, sensory testing, nutritional validation, shelf-life studies, consumer feedback and product iterations.
• Manufacturing & Scale-Up Work with food processing and manufacturing teams to convert successful formulations into standardised, scalable production processes.
• Product Specifications & Documentation Own product specifications, ingredient standards, formulation documents, process requirements, packaging requirements and quality benchmarks.
• Market & Consumer Validation Conduct customer discovery, market research, competitor analysis and product validation to ensure products solve real customer problems.
• Commercialisation Work across pricing, packaging, positioning, distribution and launch planning to take products from R&D to the market.
• Product Portfolio Management Manage the product pipeline, prioritise development projects and continuously improve existing products based on data and customer feedback.
• Cross-Functional Product Leadership Coordinate Food Science, Nutrition, Food Processing, R&D, Operations, Technology, Marketing and Sales teams around product development.
• FoodTech Innovation & IP Identify opportunities for new technologies, processes, formulations, manufacturing models and proprietary FoodTech innovations that can create long-term competitive advantage for Kefilo.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience in FoodTech, food product development, FMCG, functional foods, nutrition products or food manufacturing
• Strong understanding of the complete food product lifecycle
• Experience taking products from concept to commercialisation
• Ability to work with food scientists, nutritionists and manufacturing teams
• Understanding of food formulation, processing, quality and regulatory requirements
• Strong product thinking and consumer understanding
• Comfortable working with data, experimentation and product validation
• Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and execution ability
• Interest in building new FoodTech products and systems from the ground up

Engagement Terms

• Equity-based founding position
• 20–25 hours/week
• Remote / Hybrid
• No fixed salary at the current stage
• Fixed compensation to be introduced after funding and revenue stabilisation
• Equity based on contribution, responsibility, expertise and long-term commitment
• Core founding team equity subject to a 5-year vesting structure

What You Will Build

You will help build Kefilo's Food Product Innovation Engine — taking nutrition and consumer problems, converting them into scientifically designed food products, and building the systems required to develop, manufacture, validate and commercialise them at scale.
