We are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on Senior AI Engineer who can build intelligent AI systems, develop full-stack applications and bring advanced AI capabilities into real-world construction workflows. Role OverviewAs a Senior AI Engineer (Full-Stack & Computer Vision), you will be responsible for designing, developing and deploying AI-powered features across the Brikito platform.

You will work across applied AI, large language models, AI agents, backend engineering, frontend integration, document intelligence and computer vision.

We are looking for someone who can independently take an idea from concept to production, make sound technical decisions and build reliable, scalable products rather than just prototypes.

Key Roles and Responsibilities1. AI Engineering and Automation

• Design, develop and deploy AI-powered features that automate construction management workflows.
• Build intelligent AI agents capable of understanding instructions, processing information, using tools and executing multi-step tasks.
• Develop LLM-based applications using appropriate models, APIs, orchestration frameworks and supporting technologies.
• Implement RAG, structured information extraction, function calling and other techniques where appropriate.
• Develop AI systems for automating daily progress reports (DPRs), task creation, project communication, document processing and other construction workflows.
• Improve the accuracy, reliability, speed and cost efficiency of AI-powered features.
• Implement appropriate validation, human approval and error-handling mechanisms for AI-generated outputs and actions.2. Full-Stack Development
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs and integrations supporting Brikito’s AI capabilities.
• Build and integrate frontend features using modern web technologies such as React or Next.js.
• Integrate AI functionality into Brikito’s existing web platform and mobile application.
• Design efficient database structures, data models and application architectures.
• Develop secure, maintainable and reusable components that support rapid product development.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to deliver complete features from development through testing and deployment.3. Computer Vision and Image Processing
• Research and develop computer vision solutions for construction-related applications.
• Work with image processing, object detection, image classification, segmentation and visual information extraction.
• Use technologies such as OpenCV, PyTorch and suitable computer vision models to develop practical solutions.
• Explore the use of AI to analyse construction drawings, site photographs and other visual documents.
• Develop and evaluate solutions for construction progress monitoring, visual change detection and discrepancy identification where appropriate.
• Work with vision-language models and multimodal AI systems to extract meaningful information from images and visual data.
• Establish the technical foundation for future AI-powered construction cameras and video analytics products.4. Construction Document Intelligence
• Develop intelligent document processing systems for construction drawings, BOQs, schedules, reports and project documentation.
• Implement OCR, document parsing, table extraction, layout analysis and information retrieval.
• Build AI workflows to extract, structure and interpret information from complex construction documents.
• Develop systems to compare documents, identify inconsistencies and flag potential discrepancies for review.
• Improve the reliability of AI-generated reports and construction-related information through evaluation and validation.5. AI Architecture and Production Deployment
• Design scalable architectures for AI-powered applications and services.
• Deploy and maintain AI applications in production environments.
• Implement automated testing, logging, monitoring and evaluation for AI systems.
• Optimise model inference, latency, infrastructure utilisation and API costs.
• Work with cloud infrastructure, databases, Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement appropriate data security, access controls and privacy safeguards.
• Establish reusable AI components, coding standards and development practices across the platform.6. Research and Product Innovation
• Stay up to date with advancements in AI, LLMs, computer vision and multimodal technologies.
• Evaluate emerging AI models, tools and frameworks for their practical value to Brikito.
• Rapidly prototype new capabilities and convert promising solutions into production-ready products.
• Identify opportunities to automate complex, repetitive and time-consuming construction workflows.
• Collaborate directly with the founder and product team to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to Brikito’s long-term technology roadmap, including intelligent cameras, video analytics and construction robotics.Required Skills and Qualifications
• 4+ years of relevant experience in AI engineering, machine learning, software engineering or applied AI development.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-based applications and AI-powered products.
• Experience with AI APIs, agentic workflows, tool calling, prompt engineering and model integration.
• Strong backend development skills and experience building REST APIs.
• Practical full-stack development experience with technologies such as React, Next.js or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases and application architecture.
• Working knowledge of machine learning, deep learning and AI model evaluation.
• Practical understanding of computer vision, digital image processing or vision-based AI applications.
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications in production environments.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to independently own technical tasks and deliver working solutions.Preferred Skills
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar machine learning frameworks.
• Familiarity with OpenCV, YOLO, vision transformers, segmentation models or other computer vision technologies.
• Experience with OCR, document intelligence and multimodal AI.
• Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings and RAG architectures.
• Experience with Docker, cloud platforms and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with asynchronous processing, background jobs and distributed systems.
• Experience working with images, video streams, real-time inference or camera-based AI applications.
