UI-UX-Architect
About Ginesys
Ginesys is India's leading retail technology platform, powering 1,200+ customers and 50,000+ users through the unified GinesysOne suite — ERP, Cloud POS (Zwing), Order Management (Browntape), GST Compliance (EaseMyGST), and BI (InsightX). We are evolving from a System of Records to a System of Intelligence through Ginesys.AI.
Role Summary
The UI/UX Architect is the single accountable owner of enterprise UI/UX architecture across all products. This person defines the design system, reusable foundation layer, and UX governance model that every product team builds on — enabling consistent, scalable, and intuitive experiences across ERP, POS, OMS, WMS, Reporting, and future modules.
This is a matrix leadership role. The UI/UX Architect does not own product-specific design decisions or engineering implementation — those stay with Product Managers and Engineering respectively. Instead, this role sets the standards, patterns, and governance those decisions must work within, and partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success to apply them.
This is a hands-on architecture and design leadership role. The person doesn't just define standards on paper — they build reusable component libraries, foundation screens, and research-backed patterns that product teams consume directly.
What This Role Owns
- Enterprise UI/UX architecture: the long-term design architecture strategy across all products.
- Enterprise Design System: tokens, typography, color, spacing, grid, components, patterns, accessibility, and responsive standards — owned and evolved centrally.
- UI Foundation Layer: reusable screens and patterns (auth, navigation, dashboards, tables, forms, filters, notifications, empty / loading / error states) that every product consumes.
- UX Governance: the design review process, quality gates, accessibility compliance, and pattern library governance.
- UX Research practice: the methods and cadence for user research, journey mapping, and usability validation across products.
- Design capability building: mentoring UI/UX designers and guiding front-end engineers on usability principles.
What This Role Does Not Own
- Product roadmap or feature prioritization: owned by Product Managers.
- Product-specific UX decisions: co-owned with Product Managers within the enterprise design system — this role sets the standards, Product Managers decide the product's specific workflows.
- Engineering implementation and technology stack decisions: owned by Engineering Architects; this role ensures designs are aligned with and feasible on the chosen stack.
- People management of designers embedded in product teams: reporting model to be confirmed with leadership.
- Brand identity and marketing collateral: owned by Marketing/Brand, where such a function exists; this role ensures product UX stays brand-compliant.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise UI/UX Architecture
- Define the long-term UI/UX architecture strategy across all products and own the scalable enterprise design framework.
- Establish standardized UX principles, reusable interaction models, navigation frameworks, and common user journeys for enterprise workflows.
- Define information architecture standards and a scalable component taxonomy that enables rapid product development.
Enterprise Design System
- Own and evolve the enterprise Design System: tokens, typography, color, spacing/grid, icons, components, templates, patterns, accessibility, and responsive/mobile/tablet/desktop standards.
- Build reusable component libraries that every product team consumes, ensuring complete consistency across the portfolio.
UI Foundation Layer
- Architect and standardize a reusable UI foundation layer — authentication, navigation, search, dashboards, notifications, tables/data grids, forms, filters, pagination, reports, wizards, dialogs, and standard empty/loading/error/success states.
- Ensure this foundation reduces implementation effort for every future product and module.
Product-Specific UX Partnership
- Partner with Product Managers to design differentiated experiences for ERP, POS, OMS, WMS, Inventory, Finance, Reporting, and AI-enabled workflows.
- Translate business workflows into intuitive digital experiences within the enterprise design system.
Customer Experience Strategy
- Drive organization-wide initiatives to reduce clicks, simplify workflows, lower cognitive load, and improve discoverability, navigation, and first-time usability.
- Lead personalization, context-aware, and AI-assisted interaction initiatives.
UX Research
- Lead UX research: user interviews, customer workshops, journey mapping, personas, task analysis, usage analytics, A/B testing, and prototype validation.
- Use research findings to continuously improve products and validate design decisions before they scale enterprise-wide.
UX Governance
- Establish and run governance mechanisms: design reviews, UX quality gates, design approval process, component governance, accessibility and brand compliance, and release readiness reviews.
- Ensure no product ships a pattern outside the design system without going through governance.
Technology Alignment
- Collaborate with Engineering Architects to ensure designs align with the technology stack and are technically scalable.
- Partner with engineering teams through implementation to protect design intent.
Matrix Collaboration And Leadership
- Work across Product Management, Engineering, Customer Support, Customer Success, Sales, and Implementation teams — influencing without direct authority.
- Mentor UI/UX designers, guide front-end engineers, and conduct design workshops to build organizational design capability.
Continuous Innovation
- Track industry trends (AI-powered UX, conversational interfaces, design automation, micro-frontends, cross-platform design) and recommend adoption where it strengthens the enterprise experience.
