Java / Teamcenter – Software Engineer

We are currently hiring for an experienced Java / Teamcenter Software Engineer with 4–10 years of software development experience to design, develop, customize, and maintain enterprise product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions using Siemens Teamcenter, Active Workspace, JavaScript, Java, and related technologies for one of our client in Pune.

The role focuses on building and customizing Teamcenter-based enterprise applications, developing Active Workspace solutions, implementing frontend and server-side customizations, integrating enterprise systems through REST and SOA, and working closely with engineering and business teams to deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions.

This role is suited to a hands-on software engineer who has practical experience in Teamcenter customization and understands both frontend and server-side development. The ideal candidate should have strong JavaScript skills, exposure to React and Java, and the ability to work across Teamcenter, Active Workspace, APIs, and enterprise application components.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, customize, and maintain Teamcenter PLM solutions.
• Develop and customize Active Workspace applications based on business requirements.
• Develop frontend components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Work with React JS for Active Workspace customization and frontend development where required.
• Develop and maintain server-side customizations using C++, ITK, and SOA.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and work with JSON-based data structures.
• Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.
• Customize Teamcenter functionality to support enterprise engineering and product lifecycle processes.
• Work with Teamcenter BOM and product structure functionality where required.
• Develop, debug, test, and optimize Teamcenter customizations and enterprise integrations.
• Work closely with functional consultants, architects, developers, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in requirement analysis, technical design, implementation, testing, and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot application issues across frontend, backend, and Teamcenter components.
• Follow established software development standards, coding guidelines, and engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
• Work within Agile development methodologies and contribute to sprint planning, development, testing, and retrospectives.
• Continuously learn and apply new Teamcenter capabilities and technologies to solve business problems.
• Take ownership of assigned development activities and ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

Required Skills / Primary Skills

• 4–10 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Siemens Teamcenter.
• Practical experience in Active Workspace customization.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with JavaScript being mandatory.
• Experience working with JSON and REST APIs.
• Understanding of Teamcenter server-side programming.
• Experience with C++, ITK, and SOA.
• Good understanding of enterprise software development principles and best practices.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into working solutions.
• Strong focus on code quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.

Additional Skills

• Experience with Java development.
• Experience with React JS is an added advantage.
• TCL knowledge is desirable, particularly for candidates working with Active Integration.
• Basic understanding of Teamcenter architecture and PLM concepts.
• Knowledge of BOM and product structure is a plus.
• Cloud knowledge and experience with cloud technologies is an added advantage.
• Experience working with enterprise engineering or product lifecycle applications.
• Understanding of the process industry would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of software development tools, version control, and testing practices.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise application environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them to real-world development problems.
• Experience collaborating with distributed engineering teams is an added advantage.

Education

• B.E. or B.Tech. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience, technical capability, Teamcenter expertise, and interview performance.

Candidates with approximately 5 years of relevant experience can be considered up to ₹25 Lakhs for exceptionally strong profiles.

Candidates with approximately 8 years of experience can be considered in the range of ₹35–40 Lakhs for exceptionally strong profiles.

For exceptional candidates, compensation can be decided based on technical expertise, relevant experience, interview performance, and overall fit.
