THE ROLE

As a Full Stack Developer, you will own product features end to end, from backend architecture and database design to frontend development, AI integration, deployment, and production support.

You will work across multiple client and internal products, building scalable web applications and AI-powered solutions using modern development frameworks and LLM technologies.

This role requires strong hands-on engineering capabilities, independent problem-solving, sound technical judgement, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-product environment. You will also contribute to system design, code reviews, technical documentation, and mentoring junior developers.

THE OPPORTUNITY

SkyQuest is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to contribute to the development and deployment of AI-powered digital products across enterprise, government, FMCG, agriculture, and international development projects.

This is an opportunity to work on real-world applications involving full-stack engineering, LLM integrations, AI agents, document automation, data-intensive platforms, and cloud infrastructure.

You will have significant ownership of product development, from rapid prototyping and client demonstrations to building, testing, deploying, and maintaining production-grade applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Full Stack Development & Product Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Python (FastAPI/Flask) or Node.js (Express) backends and React frontends.
• Design and develop REST APIs, database schemas, efficient queries, indexes, and aggregation pipelines using MongoDB and SQL databases.
• Build data-intensive features, including dashboards, maps, charts, document generation, file ingestion, and automated data-processing workflows.
• Develop proofs of concept and demonstration builds for client pitches and proposals, and convert selected solutions into production-ready applications.
• Translate Figma designs into responsive, accessible, and high-quality user interfaces.

2. AI & LLM Engineering

• Integrate LLM APIs, including OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Anthropic Claude, into applications and product workflows.
• Build AI-powered features involving prompt pipelines, structured outputs, function calling, tool use, embeddings, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Develop multi-step AI workflows and agents that interact with internal APIs, databases, and external tools.
• Implement output validation, quality checks, source verification, retries, and fallback mechanisms to improve AI reliability.
• Monitor and optimise token usage, response latency, and API costs through caching, batching, prompt optimisation, and model selection.
• Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and OpenAI Codex for development, debugging, testing, and refactoring, while independently reviewing generated code for quality and security.

3. Quality, DevOps & Production Management

• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools such as pytest, Jest, and Playwright.
• Containerise applications using Docker and deploy services on Linux servers and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Configure nginx, CI/CD pipelines, application environments, SSL, logging, monitoring, and backups.
• Take ownership of production reliability, troubleshooting, performance optimisation, and resolution of live issues.
• Implement security and data-privacy practices covering authentication, role-based access control, secrets management, input validation, and encryption.
• Ensure appropriate handling of client and government data in line with contractual requirements and India's DPDP Act.

4. Technical Ownership & Collaboration

• Translate client requirements into technical scope, development estimates, and delivery plans.
• Participate in client discussions, product demonstrations, and technical status updates as required.
• Contribute to system architecture and technology decisions, documenting technical trade-offs.
• Collaborate with project managers, consultants, designers, and domain experts to deliver product milestones.
• Review code, establish development standards, and mentor junior developers and interns.
• Prepare technical documentation covering APIs, architecture, deployments, and project handovers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education

• B.E./B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Professional Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack development, with at least 2–3 production applications shipped and maintained.
• Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI/Flask) and/or Node.js (Express), with the ability to work across backend technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend development practices.
• Practical experience with MongoDB, including schema design, indexing, aggregation, and query optimisation, along with working knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience designing REST APIs, implementing authentication using JWT/OAuth, and handling background jobs and asynchronous processing.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, nginx, Linux server administration, Git, and cloud deployment across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Demonstrated experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Gemini, and Anthropic into real-world applications.
• Strong understanding of system design fundamentals, including caching, queues, background workers, scalability, and application reliability.
• Experience writing automated tests and working with pull requests, code reviews, and version-control workflows.
• Ability to independently debug issues across the full stack and take ownership of production applications.

AI TOOL PROFICIENCY – MUST HAVE

• AI Coding Agents: Daily hands-on experience using Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or OpenAI Codex for feature development, debugging, refactoring, and test generation.
• Prompt & Context Engineering: Ability to write effective prompts, system instructions, and project context files to generate code aligned with application architecture.
• Critical Review of AI-Generated Code: Ability to identify incorrect APIs, security vulnerabilities, hallucinations, and potential bugs before integrating generated code.
• Building with LLMs: Practical understanding of function calling, structured outputs, streaming responses, embeddings, and RAG pipelines.
• Model Selection: Understanding of the trade-offs between models such as GPT, Gemini, Claude, Llama, and Qwen in terms of quality, latency, context window, and cost.
• Evaluation & Observability: Familiarity with prompt evaluation and LLM monitoring tools such as Langfuse, LangSmith, or Helicone.
• AI-Assisted Prototyping: Experience using tools such as v0, Lovable, Bolt, or Claude Artifacts to rapidly develop interactive prototypes.
• Responsible AI Usage: Ability to follow AI usage policies and ensure that client data, credentials, and proprietary code are not shared with unapproved AI tools.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• Experience building RAG pipelines and working with vector databases such as Qdrant, pgvector, or Chroma.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, or Claude Agent SDK.
• Experience building AI agents and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers.
• Exposure to self-hosting or fine-tuning open-source models using Ollama, vLLM, or Hugging Face.
• Experience with real-time applications and voice AI technologies, including WebSockets, WebRTC, LiveKit, Pipecat, or telephony/SIP.
• Experience with document automation using python-pptx, openpyxl, python-docx, or PDF libraries.
• Familiarity with geospatial and data visualisation tools such as Leaflet, Mapbox, D3, Chart.js, or ECharts.
• Experience with Redis, Celery/RQ, message queues, Cloudflare, and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Sentry, or Prometheus.
• Exposure to agriculture, FMCG, regulatory, government, or international development-sector projects.
• Experience in stakeholder communication, requirement gathering, client demonstrations, and expectation management.
