About Position:

We are looking for a skilled Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Java backend technologies and application security. The ideal candidate will be responsible for modernizing enterprise Java applications, managing third-party dependencies, remediating security vulnerabilities, improving code quality, and ensuring compatibility with modern technology stacks including Java 21, Spring 6, and Hibernate 6. This role requires hands-on experience in Java development, REST API design, security remediation, dependency management, code quality improvements, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing applications.

What You'll Do:

  • Create and maintain an inventory of third-party dependencies, versions, vulnerabilities, incompatibilities, and obsolete components.
  • Upgrade third-party libraries and frameworks including JSF/PrimeFaces, JSTL, JAXB, validation libraries, and migrate from Swagger to SpringDoc.
  • Analyze and remediate critical and high-priority Snyk findings, including vulnerable direct and transitive dependencies.
  • Analyze and remediate SonarQube findings including security vulnerabilities, bugs, code smells, maintainability issues, and technical debt.
  • Assess breaking changes and dependency conflicts while recommending safe and sustainable upgrade approaches.
  • Implement code and configuration changes required for migration to Java 21, Spring Framework 6, Hibernate 6, and Jakarta EE.
  • Design, develop, and maintain secure RESTful APIs and backend application services.
  • Support application modernization and framework upgrade initiatives.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA teams, DBAs, DevOps engineers, architects, and security teams.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and ensure Snyk and Sonar checks are consistently integrated into the development lifecycle.
  • Maintain traceability between vulnerabilities, fixes, dependency upgrades, accepted risks, and validation results.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to secure coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and provide technical support during implementation and release cycles.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support performance optimization, application stability, and security enhancement efforts.

Expertise You'll Bring:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in enterprise software development and backend application development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java development and modern Java frameworks.
  • Experience working with Java 21 and migration initiatives.
  • Strong expertise in Spring Framework 6 and Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on experience with Hibernate 6 and JPA-based applications.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and software engineering principles.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL query development.
  • Strong knowledge of Maven or Gradle dependency management.
  • Experience managing third-party library upgrades and dependency conflict resolution.
  • Hands-on experience with Git and source code management practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality validation processes.
  • Strong understanding of software testing, unit testing, and code review practices.
  • Expertise in identifying and resolving security vulnerabilities.
  • Experience working with security and code quality tools such as Snyk, SonarQube.
  • Ability to analyze CVEs, security risks, severity levels, and remediation recommendations.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security principles.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
