Simora.ai is the contextual layer for AI video. AI models can generate a video, but they don’t understand a brand, its audience, the language people actually speak or what works in their market. Simora adds that context, for enterprises, we go further. We build custom studios and AI workflows around how their teams actually create content, so large organisations can produce videos at scale in their own format, brand and process. The role

You will own Simora’s backend. That means architecture, databases, infrastructure, performance and the systems that let thousands of users and large organisations use the product at the same time. You will decide how things should be built, build them and stand behind them in production.

Our stack

Node.js, Cloudflare Workers, Postgres, MongoDB, AWS, object storage, background job workflows, containers for media processing, plus a wide set of AI model APIs for video, voice and language. Experience with these helps, but strong fundamentals matter more than any specific tool.

You are the right person if you

• Have 4+ years of backend experience, including at least 2-3 products backend you built and ran end to end
• Have set up the complete backend of a product end to end, from first architecture to live users, and kept it running
• Plan before you build: you think through the design, then execute, and you can explain every decision
• Know your code better than anyone else. Use any AI tool you like, but you understand every line that goes to production and can find the cause of a bug quickly
• Move fast and take ownership, the way a startup needs, without waiting to be told what to do next
• Have taken a system from small scale to large scale and know what breaks along the way
• Are strong with databases: data modelling, query performance and moving data safely
• Have worked with heavy async workloads such as media processing, queues or long-running jobs
• Think about cost per user as seriously as speed

This role is not for you if

• You have never built a full product backend end to end on your own, only parts of one
• You depend on AI to write code you can’t explain or debug without it
• You need a detailed spec and someone to plan the work before you can start
• You prefer working on a narrow, well-defined module in a large team
• You have mostly worked on CRUD APIs and not on systems under real load
