Product Architect
Job Description
As a Product Architect you will be responsible for architectural designing and developing the structure of complex software systems, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and security requirements. You'll collaborate with stakeholders to align architectural decisions with business goals and technical strategies. Also, you will contribute in delivery including planning, requirement analysis, design, implementation, validation & verification.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end system integration activities for 4G eNodeB and 5G gNodeB products.
- Define integration strategy, validation scope, and release readiness criteria based on product roadmap and feature increments.
- Lead integration of FW, FPGA, L1, L2, L3, OAM, RU, and transport/networking components into stable product releases.
- Drive architectural decisions for system-level feature enablement, performance optimization, scalability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software development, hardware, verification, field engineering, and product management.
- Analyze customer, field, and verification issues; provide system-level solutions and influence delivery roadmaps.
- Lead root cause analysis and debugging of complex system issues, including DL/UL timing, synchronization, interoperability, and protocol-related problems.
- Define and guide verification, field trial, and customer acceptance test strategies. Track internal and external issues to closure, ensuring alignment across development and support teams.
- Mentor engineering teams on system architecture, integration methodologies, and best practices.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong expertise in RAN software architecture, protocol stack design, feature integration, and release management.
- Hands-on experience in integrating and troubleshooting FW, FPGA, RU, L1, L2, L3, OAM, and transport/networking components.
- Deep knowledge of LTE and NR protocols across PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, SDAP, RRC, NGAP, X2AP, XnAP, S1AP, and F1AP layers.
- Strong experience in system-level debugging and root cause analysis of complex software issues across multiple protocol layers.
- Proven expertise in debugging:
- DL/UL timing alignment and synchronization issues.
- Call setup, attach, handover, mobility, and bearer management failures.
- Throughput, latency, scheduler, QoS, and radio performance issues.
- Carrier Aggregation (CA), MIMO, VoLTE, ENDC, NSA/SA, and Dual Connectivity features.
- Interoperability issues involving RU, DU, CU, UE, and Core Network elements.
- Strong understanding of PHY layer procedures including timing advance, HARQ, beamforming, MIMO, PRACH, synchronization, and scheduler behavior.
- Expertise in analyzing protocol logs, call traces, KPIs, core dumps, memory leaks, crash dumps, Wireshark traces, front-haul captures, and system debug logs.
- Hands-on experience with Open RAN architecture including FAPI, eCPRI, O-RAN M-Plane, RU integration, and front-haul troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of Linux internals, multi-threaded software debugging, IPC mechanisms, performance profiling, and resource optimization.
- Experience in software architecture reviews, design trade-off analysis, and technical risk assessment.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and release governance.
- Ability to define integration architecture, feature validation strategies, and system verification roadmaps.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership skills with proven experience working with development, hardware, verification, field, and customer support teams.
Desired Skills
- Experience with UE simulators and test platforms such as TM500, Keysight, Spirent, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of EPC/5GC configuration and end-to-end RAN validation.
- Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and automation frameworks.
- Exposure to cloud-native RAN, virtualization, and container-based deployments.
- Familiarity with performance benchmarking, capacity validation, and interoperability testing.
- Experience in customer-facing technical engagements and field deployment support.
Qualifications
- Experience: 18+ from Wireless Telecommunications, Networking, or RAN product development.
- Education: B.Tech/BE (CSE/ECE) or any other equivalent degree
