We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with hands-on experience in the Astro framework who can contribute to developing high-performance websites, modern web applications, responsive user interfaces, and scalable digital solutions.

Role OverviewAs a Full Stack Software Engineer at Sapiogen AI, you will work on developing, maintaining, and optimizing modern web applications using Astro and related frontend and backend technologies.

The ideal candidate should have at least one year of professional development experience, a strong understanding of web technologies, and practical experience building websites or applications using Astro.

You should be comfortable working in an on-site, fast-paced startup environment, collaborating with the engineering team, and using AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and code quality.

Key Responsibilities1. Frontend Development

Develop responsive, modern, and high-performance websites and web applications using the Astro framework.
Build reusable UI components using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Implement responsive layouts and ensure compatibility across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Work with component frameworks such as React when required within Astro projects.
Convert UI/UX designs, wireframes, and design references into functional web interfaces.
Optimize website performance, accessibility, and user experience.2. Backend Development
Develop and integrate backend functionality, APIs, and server-side logic.
Work with REST APIs and third-party service integrations.
Understand server-side rendering, static site generation, and dynamic rendering concepts.
Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB, as required by projects.
Implement authentication, form handling, data validation, and secure application workflows.3. Astro Framework Development
Build and maintain websites and applications using Astro.
Understand Astro components, layouts, routing, content collections, and project structure.
Work with Astro integrations and client-side interactive components.
Implement server-side rendering or static site generation based on project requirements.
Optimize loading performance and minimize unnecessary JavaScript.
Troubleshoot framework-specific issues and follow modern development best practices.4. API Integration and Application Development
Integrate external APIs and backend services into web applications.
Develop functional forms, dashboards, landing pages, and other application interfaces.
Assist with integrating AI-powered APIs and automation features when required.
Debug application issues and ensure reliable functionality across environments.5. Website Performance and SEO
Build search-engine-friendly website structures and semantic HTML.
Implement technical SEO best practices, including metadata, canonical URLs, structured data, and sitemap configuration where applicable.
Optimize Core Web Vitals, page loading speed, and overall website performance.
Ensure that website content is accessible to search engine crawlers.
Collaborate with the marketing team to implement technical improvements that support SEO and website growth.6. Development Workflow and Collaboration
Use Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
Work with deployment platforms and hosting environments such as Vercel, Netlify, or equivalent services.
Assist with deployment, testing, debugging, and production maintenance.
Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar tools to accelerate development while maintaining code quality.
Collaborate with designers, engineers, and other team members to deliver projects within deadlines.Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in full-stack or web development.
Practical experience working with the Astro framework is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web development.
Working knowledge of TypeScript.
Experience building websites or applications using Astro components, layouts, and routing.
Familiarity with React or another modern frontend framework.
Understanding of REST APIs and backend integration.
Basic experience with databases and server-side development.
Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
Understanding of website performance optimization and technical SEO.
Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and write clean code.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.Preferred Qualifications
Experience deploying Astro websites to Vercel, Netlify, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with Node.js and backend frameworks.
Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or other databases.
Understanding of server-side rendering, static site generation, and hydration.
Familiarity with authentication systems and third-party integrations.
Experience using AI-powered coding assistants.
