Role Description This is a full-time remote contract role for a PHP Developer with strong Magento experience, ideally with 7–13 years of professional background. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining back-end services and Magento-based applications, ensuring performance, security, and scalability. The developer will work on building new features, integrating third-party APIs, optimizing existing modules, and troubleshooting complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Back-End Web Development, with hands-on experience in PHP and Magento, including custom module development and performance optimization.
• Candidates should possess solid Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) skills, including designing maintainable architectures, applying design patterns, and writing reusable, testable code.

Desired skills:

• PHP 8 and OOP. SOLID principles and maintainable business logic.
• Magento 2 custom development. Create and maintain modules; understand module configuration, application areas, request handling and the catalog and sales domains.
• Magento best practices. Dependency injection, plugins, observers, service contracts, repositories and generated factories; extend functionality.
• Magento data model. Resource models, collections, EAV, declarative schema and data patches.
• SQL and MySQL or MariaDB. JOINs, transactions, indexes and EXPLAIN; investigate slow queries and avoid inefficient collection loading.
• OpenSearch. Understand search indexes, mappings, aliases and Magento indexers; diagnose indexing failures and search issues.
• Redis and Magento caching. Understand application cache, full page cache, sessions, cache tags and invalidation; diagnose stale data and cache-related errors.
• Composer and Docker workflow. Manage dependencies, autoloading and lock files; work inside containers.
• Magento Coding Standard and review changes.
• REST API and integrations. Work with HTTP, JSON, authentication and service contracts.
