BackEnd Developer

We’re looking for a Backend Developer to design, build, and run the services behind Arnifi - our customer platform, internal operations system, and content APIs. You’ll own backend features end to end, from data modelling to production.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain backend services and APIs - custom controllers, services, policies, and middleware
  • Model content types, components, and relations, and write efficient queries, including data migrations
  • Build asynchronous workflows - job queues, scheduled jobs, retries, and idempotent webhook handling
  • Integrate and sync data with external systems reliably - auth flows, rate limits, failures, and data consistency
  • Build real-time and long-running flows using streaming and event-driven patterns
  • Implement search and AI-assisted features on top of our data
  • Own authentication, authorization, and data protection - tokens, role-based access, rate limiting, secure file access

What We’re Looking For

  • 2-3 years of experience building backend services with Node.js
  • Strong JavaScript, with working knowledge of TypeScript
  • Solid API design and relational data modelling fundamentals - validation, error handling, pagination, schema design
  • Experience with authentication and permissions - JWT, role-based access, and API security basics
  • Solid relational database skills (PostgreSQL preferred) like schema design, relations, indexing
  • Experience with background jobs, cron tasks, and third-party API / webhook integrations, including retries and idempotency

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with Strapi (v4 or v5) - content types, relations, custom controllers, services, policies, and lifecycle hooks
  • Experience with search systems and LLM-based applications
  • Experience with payments, accounting, or ERP-style systems
  • Familiarity with AWS (S3, SES), CI/CD, and containers
  • Experience in a startup / fast-paced environment
