Role Overview

The Data Product Designer will play a key role in Intact's Data Product function, supporting the development of enterprise data products for the Pricing business on the Databricks platform.

The role focuses on understanding business data, designing target data models, documenting source-to-target mappings, and translating business requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams.

This is an analytical and data-focused role rather than a pure engineering or architecture role. The ideal candidate will possess strong data modelling capabilities, hands-on SQL/Python skills, and Insurance domain expertise.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze and understand source data across the organization.
  • Identify business-critical data elements.
  • Design and create target data models.
  • Map source-to-target data transformations.
  • Produce data lineage and mapping documentation.
  • Create technical specifications for engineering teams.
  • Validate data mappings using SQL and/or Python.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to uncover undocumented requirements.
  • Support the development of enterprise data products on the Databricks platform.

Years of Experience: 5-10years

Experience Focus

  • At least 4-5 years of relevant experience in:
  • Data Modelling
  • Data Analysis
