About Us

PBU Delivery & Agile Operations Manager – OMS

Location: Pune, India

Reports to: Product Business Unit Head

Experience: 6+ Years

Type: Full-time, Work from Office

About The Role

Anchanto is a global enterprise-grade B2B SaaS company. We provide cloud software for brands, retailers, and logistics providers to manage orders, inventory, marketplaces, fulfilment, parcel tracking, and omnichannel commerce.

As Anchanto evolves toward integrated Product Business Units (PBUs), we need a leader who can run the delivery operating system of a business unit. This role combines multi-pod Scrum leadership, program delivery, resource and capacity planning, financial visibility, operational governance, and PBU administration.

This is not a ceremony-only Scrum Master role. The person is expected to independently create structure, maintain a single view of all commitments, challenge unrealistic plans, hold senior stakeholders accountable, and ensure work gets delivered with speed, predictability, and quality.

Why This Role Exists

The PBU model brings Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture, DevOps, Implementation, and Support closer together around a single product outcome. To make this model work, the PBU needs one owner for delivery rhythm, portfolio visibility, resource loading, risk management, operational discipline, and leadership reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Delivery & Scrum Leadership

  • Manage approximately 6-10 active Scrum teams or delivery pods in parallel.
  • Ensure effective sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily Scrum, reviews, retrospectives, and Scrum of Scrums.
  • Ensure every pod has a clear sprint goal, ready backlog, acceptance criteria, realistic capacity plan, visible dependencies, and agreed Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
  • Monitor and improve commitment reliability, cycle time, lead time, throughput, scope churn, defect leakage, release predictability, and delivery flow.
  • Identify recurring blockers, delayed QA, weak Jira hygiene, and process failures, and drive corrective actions.

Integrated Delivery & Portfolio Planning

  • Maintain one consolidated delivery plan across product roadmap, customer projects, customisations, technical debt, innovation, compliance requirements, production incidents, and L3 support.
  • Maintain visibility of milestones, dependencies, delivery confidence, scope changes, customer commitments, and roadmap displacement.
  • Support quarterly planning, monthly operating reviews, and major reprioritisation decisions.

Resource Loading & Capacity Management

  • Maintain a current capacity and allocation view across Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture, DevOps, Design, Implementation, and Support.
  • Identify overload, underutilisation, shared-resource conflicts, skill bottlenecks, and single points of failure.
  • Recommend pod composition and practical trade-off options when capacity is insufficient.
  • Track planned versus actual utilisation and explain material variance.

Delivery Accountability & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Act as the operating owner for PBU delivery.
  • Hold Product Managers, Engineering Managers, QA Leads, Architects, and stakeholders accountable for agreed actions and standards.
  • Challenge unrealistic commitments, incomplete requirements, unsupported dates, and unapproved customer promises.
  • Escalate unresolved issues with impact, options, recommendations, and decision requirements.

Financial, Quality & Release Governance

  • Track planned versus actual effort, budget consumption, forecast variance, vendor cost, rework, and support cost.
  • Maintain operational cost visibility for major roadmap initiatives and customer projects.
  • Create and maintain release-readiness criteria covering functional completion, regression, integration, security, performance, open defects, rollback, monitoring, and support readiness.
  • Track defect leakage, production incidents, release failures, and RCA closure.

PBU Operations & Compliance

  • Coordinate onboarding, role induction, stakeholder introductions, and training for new team members.
  • Coordinate employee exits, access revocation, knowledge transfer, and work reassignment.
  • Maintain PBU roster, role mapping, allocation view, onboarding status, and knowledge coverage.
  • Support ISO, GDPR, information security, customer audits, and compliance obligations.
  • Ensure compliance actions, evidence, owners, and due dates are tracked and completed.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Create weekly PBU operating reports covering delivery health, milestones, capacity, roadmap progress, quality, risks, and decisions required.
  • Run delivery reviews, dependency reviews, release-readiness reviews, and leadership reviews.
  • Ensure Jira, Confluence, RAID logs, decision logs, and dashboards serve as trusted systems of record.
  • Drive automation, AI-enabled reporting, and continuous process improvement.

Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years across software delivery, program management, project management, Agile delivery, product operations, or engineering operations.
  • At least 5 years managing Agile software delivery teams.
  • Experience managing multiple teams or workstreams in parallel.
  • Strong experience in delivery planning, resource loading, capacity management, risk management, dependency management, and release governance.
  • Experience influencing Product, Engineering, QA, and customer-facing teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong Jira, Confluence, dashboarding, and executive reporting capability.
  • Working knowledge of software development, APIs, CI/CD, testing, production support, and release management.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Enterprise SaaS, B2B Software, OMS, WMS, E-commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Fulfilment domain exposure.
  • Experience with customer implementations, product customisation, and roadmap-versus-customer trade-offs.
  • Experience managing large cross-functional teams and delivery pods.
  • Exposure to ISO, GDPR, SOC2, information security, and customer audit controls.
  • Experience with Power BI, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, portfolio management tools, AI-enabled delivery, and workflow automation.
  • PMP, PSM, CSM, SAFe, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.

What This Role Is Not

  • A ceremony-only Scrum Master role.
  • A Jira administrator or meeting coordinator.
  • A passive follow-up or status-chasing role.
  • A PMO reporting role that presents problems without recommendations.
  • A substitute for Product, Engineering, Finance, or Compliance leadership functions.

Success Measures

  • Multi-pod delivery predictability
  • Delivery flow and throughput
  • Quality and release health
  • Capacity effectiveness
  • Portfolio visibility
  • Customer commitment governance
  • Financial visibility and forecast accuracy
  • Risk and dependency management
