Job Title: Backend Java Lead – Agentic AI

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead backend architecture and hands-on development for Sales Agent, Document Upload Service, BFF (Backend-for-Frontend), and supporting service layers.
• Design and implement agentic AI architectures and frameworks, working hands-on with AI agents, agent orchestration, MCP tools/services, and A2A integration.
• Develop scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring AI, ensuring reliable and deterministic execution through domain APIs.
• Design and integrate REST/OData APIs, SAP Commerce OCC APIs, and external services.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2/JWT and manage API integrations through Azure API Management.
• Establish backend integration patterns and BFF architecture aligned with frontend and platform requirements.
• Ensure code quality, scalability, performance, security, and observability using OpenTelemetry and SonarQube.
• Guide developers, conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and drive engineering best practices.
• Support containerized service deployments and collaborate with frontend, AI, and platform teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Use Python scripting where required for automation and supporting backend workflows.

Skills

• Experience: 10+ years of overall IT experience, with strong hands-on backend Java development and technical leadership.
• Generative AI & Agentic AI: Mandatory knowledge of AI agents, agentic architecture/framework design, agent integration, and hands-on work with agents.
• Backend Development: Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and backend service design.
• AI Frameworks & Integration: Spring AI, MCP tools/services, A2A integration, and agent service design.
• API Development: REST/OData APIs, SAP Commerce OCC APIs, BFF patterns, and domain API integration.
• Security & API Management: OAuth2, JWT, and Azure API Management.
• Observability & Code Quality: OpenTelemetry and SonarQube.
• Database & Scripting: MySQL and Python scripting.
• Deployment & Leadership: Containerized services, backend architecture, technical leadership, code reviews, scalability, and performance optimization.
