Senior Java Software Engineer

Job Description:

8+ years of professional experience in full-stack Java development with strong focus on Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, and RESTful APIs. Proven track record of owning and delivering production-grade features independently — from concept to deployment. Expertise in SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc.) — including complex query optimization, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning. Deep understanding of ORM (JPA/Hibernate) — including entity modeling, lazy loading, caching, and avoiding common pitfalls. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). Strong problem-solving and debugging skills — especially in distributed systems and high-throughput environments. Proficient in modern development tools and AI-augmented coding practices (e.g., using AI to generate boilerplate, suggest refactorings, detect bugs, or write unit tests). Excellent verbal and written communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with a focus on iterative delivery and continuous improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery of high-impact use cases — from requirement analysis and technical design to production deployment and post-release monitoring. Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure Java/Spring-based microservices in a cloud-native environment (AWS/Azure/GCP). Write optimized, maintainable SQL queries and work closely with DBAs to design efficient database schemas, indexing strategies, and query performance tuning. Utilize ORM frameworks (JPA/Hibernate) effectively, avoiding N+1 issues, managing transactions, and ensuring data consistency. Apply AI-powered coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and reduce boilerplate — while maintaining code review rigor and security. Champion clean architecture principles, SOLID, DRY, and domain-driven design (DDD) practices. Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust, CI/CD-integrated solutions. Conduct peer code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing. Monitor and troubleshoot production issues using observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry). Stay ahead of emerging trends in Java, Spring, cloud, and AI-augmented development — and drive innovation within the team.
