We Are Hiring | Director of Engineering – Commercial Data Platform | India

We are hiring an experienced Engineering Leader for one of our clients to lead the development and scaling of commercial data platforms and customer-facing data products.

The ideal candidate will bring strong software engineering leadership, experience building scalable data platforms and a proven understanding of commercial data product development and monetisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale engineering teams responsible for commercial data platforms and data products.
  • Drive architecture and engineering strategy for scalable, cloud-native data platforms.
  • Build and evolve customer-facing data products, data marketplaces, data APIs and data-as-a-service solutions.
  • Partner with Product, Data Science, Architecture and Business teams to translate commercial requirements into engineering roadmaps.
  • Drive platform scalability, performance, security, governance and reliability.
  • Support product monetisation through subscription, licensing, API-based or other commercial revenue models.
  • Establish engineering excellence, delivery governance and organisational scalability.Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 15+ years of software engineering experience with significant engineering leadership responsibility.
  • Experience leading large engineering teams and managers.
  • Strong background in commercial data platforms or customer-facing data products.
  • Proven experience building and scaling data products for external enterprise customers.
  • Direct exposure to data monetisation models such as subscriptions, licensing, paid APIs or Data-as-a-Service.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, distributed systems, data architecture and modern engineering practices.
  • Important: We are specifically looking for leaders who have built and commercialised data products, not candidates with only internal enterprise data platform or analytics experience.
