Backend Engineer — Cladbe

Cladbe
Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India

About Cladbe

India sold over ₹6 lakh crore of new homes in its top seven cities, and most of it still runs on spreadsheets, WhatsApp threads and tools never built for real estate. Cladbe is building the operating system a real-estate developer runs the whole business on: every enquiry, site visit, booking, payment schedule and handover in one place. It connects to property.new, our marketplace built to show buyers every RERA-registered project in a city, checked and current.

We're building toward commercial launch and hiring a Backend Engineer to join our core engineering team and build systems that stay fast and correct under heavy load.

Where you'll work: for the first few months, the core team builds together in Bareilly. After that, the whole team moves to Noida, where the role is based.

What you'll do

  • Build the core APIs: stateless Node.js and TypeScript services that carry the business logic of the Cladbe OS.
  • Own data integrity: PostgreSQL is the source of truth and the final guard against a double sale; a Redis-compatible store serves live inventory and fast, short-lived holds in front of it.
  • Engineer for concurrency: locks, idempotency and retries that hold up on a launch day.
  • Build event-driven workflows: when a booking is confirmed, the payment schedule, demand letters and inventory updates follow automatically. Kafka carries the events; a workflow engine runs them.
  • Integrate with a licensed payment partner (RBI-regulated): booking and payment-status workflows, and reconciliation. Buyer money never sits with Cladbe; your code tracks it, never holds it.
  • Run what you build: deploy and tune services on Kubernetes, where resource efficiency matters.

The stack

  • Node.js and TypeScript, PostgreSQL, a Redis-compatible store for caching and locks
  • Kafka as the event bus, plus a durable workflow engine
  • A graph database (experience is a plus)
  • Kubernetes, with tracing and metrics you'll own

Must have

  • Node.js and TypeScript in production
  • PostgreSQL in production: transactions, isolation levels, row locking
  • Idempotent APIs and safe retries
  • At least one message queue or event bus in production
  • Debugging from logs, metrics and traces

Nice to have

  • Graph databases
  • Redis-based distributed locks
  • Kubernetes in production
  • Payments or fintech experience

Why join us

This is a rare chance to build the core of a new system for how India's homes are bought and sold, early enough that your decisions become its foundations. The problems are the kind good engineers enjoy: correctness under heavy load, numbers that must reconcile to the rupee, and systems that connect end to end. You'll work in a small team, close to the founder, where what you build ships and matters.

If that sounds like your kind of work, apply.
