Software Engineer III (Full Stack)

Aspire

About The Company

Founders today are building global companies from day one — but the systems that manage their money were built for a different era. Aspire exists to change that!

We’re building the financial operating system for global founders, bringing banking, software, and automation into a single platform so businesses can move faster across borders and stay focused on building.

Aspire is built by people who think from first principles, care deeply about solving hard problems, and take real ownership of their work. Our team brings global experience from leading fintech and technology companies, and many of us are former founders and operators who understand what it takes to build thoughtfully, make trade-offs, and deliver at scale in a global environment.

Backed by leading global investors including Y Combinator, Peak XV, and Lightspeed, Aspire has been trusted by more than 50,000 startups and growing businesses worldwide to manage their finances since 2018. Together with partners like J.P. Morgan, Visa, and Wise, we’re building for the next generation of global companies.

About The Role

AspireBooks is Aspire's accounting product: the layer that turns Aspire from a financial operations platform into the system of record for a business's finances. It is Aspire's biggest product bet, a 0→1 accounting platform targeted to the thousands of businesses already running their finances on Aspire.

We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to take AspireBooks to mid-market customers. This is a builder-PM role: you won't just write specs, you'll ship working features yourself using AI coding tools, working inside the actual codebase alongside engineers. The role exists because mid-market accounting is won on depth and speed of execution, and we need someone who can deliver both.

You'll work in a small, autonomous pod of product, design and engineering that ships at startup speed inside a scaled, profitable fintech, pairing day to day with the AspireBooks Product Manager and designers.

What will you be doing?

  • Build and ship product features end to end, across frontend and backend, from solution design through production.
  • Work directly with the AspireBooks PM to turn problems into shippable solutions, with no layers in between.
  • Own the quality and reliability of what you ship: tests, monitoring, debugging and financial data integrity.
  • Integrate third-party systems: bank feeds, tax engines, and data migration and import pipelines.
  • Contribute through code review and engineering practices as an individual contributor.

We would love to get to know you if you have the following

  • 4–7 years of full-stack engineering experience shipping production web applications.
  • Experience at B2B SaaS or fintech product companies.
  • Modern full-stack web development: TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Node.js or a similar backend, REST APIs and relational databases.
  • An independent IC mindset: you take a problem from the PM and deliver it end to end (solution design, code, test, ship) without task-level direction.
  • Tested, maintainable code across frontend and backend, and ownership of what you ship through to production: debugging, monitoring, fixing.
  • Hands-on, expert use of AI coding tools in day-to-day engineering.

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience, ideally in a high-growth startup or product company.
  • Accounting, ERP or financial software background (Intuit, Zoho, Tally, NetSuite, SAP or similar), or other products handling money and financial data.
  • Double-entry accounting concepts (ledgers, journals, reconciliation), multi-currency, or other correctness-critical domains.
  • Experience in a small pod pairing directly with a PM and designer; 0-to-1 or early-product work; informal mentoring through code review.
  • Data migration and import tooling (CSV pipelines), performance work on data-heavy UIs (large tables, reports), bank feed or tax engine API integrations, or financial data integrity patterns (idempotency, audit trails).

Why this role?

Build the accounting product of the future, with the leverage of AI-native engineering. You'll ship end-to-end features with real autonomy: a small pod, a PM at your side, and nothing between you and production.

What You Get

  • Direct partnership with the AspireBooks PM and founding team.
  • An AI-native engineering culture where every engineer builds with AI tools.
  • A 0-to-1 product inside a profitable, scaled fintech.
  • Structured onboarding with senior engineers and accounting domain experts.
