Technical Lead - Product Development

About the Company: Our client is a global technology company specialising in digital identity, authentication, transaction security and anti-fraud solutions. Its technology enables secure digital interactions and trusted transactions for organisations across sectors including banking, financial services, healthcare and professional services.

About the Role: We are seeking a Technical Lead to own the design and delivery of scalable, secure backend services for authentication and identity platforms. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with technical leadership, architecture, engineering best practices and mentoring.

The successful candidate will work closely with Product, Security and Platform teams to build highly reliable distributed systems that operate at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture and development of Java-based services and REST APIs.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews and mentoring.
• Drive scalability, reliability and security across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Security and Platform teams to deliver high-impact product features.
• Champion engineering best practices around zero-downtime deployments, observability and system resilience.
• Contribute to technical decisions and ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and production-ready.

Key Qualifications:

• 10+ years of software product development experience, with products used by customers at scale.
• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Lead for product development teams.
• Proven experience working with identity and authentication platforms.
• Strong expertise in Java, distributed systems and API design.
• Experience with zero-downtime deployments and production-grade systems.
• Strong experience with databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle and/or NoSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud-based deployments.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools.
