GoLang API Developer
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior API Developer to design, build, and optimize high-performance microservices and APIs that support an enterprise platform. In this role, you will own the full-service lifecycle, from contract-first API design through production deployment and observability, while working within an AWS-native ecosystem and supporting API consumer experience through MuleSoft.
Job Title
Senior API Developer.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade GraphQL, RESTful, and event-driven APIs using Go.
- Apply clean architecture, domain-driven design, and twelve-factor principles in service development.
- Decompose monolithic capabilities into well-bounded microservices with clearly defined API contracts using OpenAPI 3.x and AsyncAPI.
- Implement resilience patterns such as circuit breakers, retries with exponential back-off, bulkheads, timeouts, and graceful degradation to support high service availability.
- Build idiomatic Go code with comprehensive unit, integration, and contract tests.
- Design and implement database access layers for PostgreSQL, MongoDB Atlas, DynamoDB, and Redis.
- Apply connection pooling, query optimization, and caching strategies to improve performance.
- Support the deployment of containerized microservices on AWS ECS using Fargate launch types.
- Review task definitions, service auto-scaling policies, and target-group health checks.
- Support the configuration of Application Load Balancers and Network Load Balancers with path-based routing, SSL and TLS termination, and sticky sessions as needed.
- Instrument distributed tracing with AWS X-Ray and create CloudWatch dashboards, metrics, alarms, and Logs Insights queries for operational visibility.
- Use CloudTrail for API-level audit logging and compliance reporting across AWS accounts.
- Manage encryption at rest and in transit using AWS KMS and integrate with Secrets Manager for credential lifecycle management.
- Utilize AWS services such as S3, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, IAM, VPC, and WAF as needed.
- Support the full API lifecycle through MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API specification design, publishing to Exchange, proxy creation, and runtime policy application.
- Monitor API consumer analytics, SLA tiers, and usage quotas, and resolve integration issues proactively.
- Enforce API standards, including naming conventions, versioning strategy, pagination patterns, error-response schemas, and HATEOAS where applicable.
- Maintain API portal documentation and developer onboarding guides for internal and external consumers.
- Support CI and CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, including build, lint, test, SAST scanning, container image build and push, and multi-stage deployment.
- Nice to have: Design and implement AI-ready APIs.
