One of our clients, a growing technology solutions and IT services organization, is looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to design and develop interactive dashboards and reports, transform complex data into meaningful business insights, and support data-driven decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports & Dashboards: Independently design Power BI Desktop reports and Service dashboards; translate requirements into agreed KPIs, intuitive visualizations, and self-service analytics.
  • Data & Modeling: Transform and integrate data using SQL and Power Query/M; build star-schema semantic models, reusable DAX measures, and consistent business definitions.
  • Security & Releases: Implement row-level security, configure gateways and scheduled refresh, and manage testing and deployment pipelines within established access and release controls.
  • Quality & Performance: Tune DAX, queries, models, and report performance; troubleshoot refresh failures, reconcile results, and maintain data quality, lineage, and governance documentation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Gather requirements with U.S.-based stakeholders, estimate work, coordinate user acceptance testing, document solutions, and support adoption with business and data teams.
  • AI-Assisted Development: Use approved AI-assisted tools to draft DAX/M, troubleshoot, document solutions, and explore insights; validate results and protect client data.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience ranges are indicative; equivalent demonstrated capability will be considered.

  • Required - Experience: Typical range: 3-5 years in BI/reporting, including 3+ years of hands-on Power BI development. Demonstrate independent delivery from requirements through transformation, modeling, visualization, deployment, and support.
  • Required - Core Skills: Strong Power BI Desktop/Service, DAX, Power Query/M, SQL, and star-schema modeling; practical experience with row-level security, gateways, refresh, deployment pipelines, and performance tuning.
  • Required - Working Style: Ability to validate business metrics, manage delivery commitments, apply data quality/governance practices, and communicate clearly with U.S.-based stakeholders and distributed teams.
  • Preferred - Azure & Fabric: Experience with one or more of the following is a strong plus: Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, semantic models).
  • Preferred - Integration & Certification: API/data-source integration (REST, JSON, authentication) is a plus. PL-300 certification is preferred; equivalent practical experience is welcomed.
