Senior Data Scientist
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to design and deliver advanced Agentic AI, data science and machine learning solutions for complex business problems. The role combines hands-on engineering, end-to-end project ownership, cloud deployment and collaboration with UK-based stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and deploy advanced Agentic AI, NLP and machine learning solutions that address measurable business needs.
- Own technical workstreams independently, including solution design, milestones, delivery and stakeholder updates.
- Build scalable data and ML pipelines, applying sound ETL, data modelling, security and performance principles.
- Architect and deploy production-ready solutions using cloud services, CI/CD, containerisation and MLOps practices.
- Guide team members through code reviews, technical decisions, deployment standards and engineering best practices.
- Present technical approaches, trade-offs, project outcomes and recommendations clearly to client and internal stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Agentic AI - essential: Demonstrable, hands-on professional experience building Agentic AI solutions. Candidates must be able to explain the models, frameworks, tools and architectures used, their own contribution and how the solution was delivered. Theoretical exposure alone is insufficient.
- Python, SQL & advanced modelling - essential: Strong object-oriented Python and SQL; applied experience with ML techniques such as forecasting, gradient boosting, clustering, NLP and Bayesian inference. Familiarity with advanced dataframes such as PySpark or Polars.
- Cloud & DevOps - essential: Hands-on experience with at least two of AWS, Azure and GCP, covering application deployment and database services (e.g., RDS, CosmosDB). Working knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD testing and containerisation.
- MLOps - essential: Experience with orchestration, experiment tracking, hyperparameter tuning, model deployment and automated retraining pipelines.
- Ownership & communication - essential: Ability to work independently, manage stakeholders, lead technical delivery and communicate confidently in professional English. Candidates should be comfortable explaining solutions and business impact.
- Project evidence - essential: An updated resume must clearly document relevant projects, specific Agentic AI models/frameworks used, technology stack, responsibilities, implementation and outcomes. Skills discussed during screening should also be reflected in the resume.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering or another relevant quantitative discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Client-facing consulting experience, data quality, project management, data versioning (DVC), PySpark/Ray, serverless services (Lambda/Fargate), infrastructure automation (Ansible/Terratest), and a relevant Master’s degree or PhD are advantageous.
