What You''''''''ll Do

  • Own outcomes, not tickets. Propose, evaluate and drive solutions through to production, and check they worked.
  • Reshape or stop work that will not move the outcome you are accountable for results, not just delivery.
  • Set direction with Product: Work with the Director of Product to turn ambiguous business goals into technical and product direction across both product areas.
  • Build with AI by default. Spec-driven development, AI-assisted implementation, review and testing alongside the team''''''''s delivery agents — and shape that agentic workforce: which agents exist, where they sit in the development lifecycle, and the human checkpoints around them.
  • Build AI into the product. Both product areas ship intelligent capabilities you set the AI architecture patterns they are built on.
  • Work with data as a product surface. The datasets, pipelines, embeddings and evaluation sets behind intelligent features get the same rigour as code.
  • Work directly with customers. Understand their problems, explain what has been built, and represent our client technically with key customers and partners.
  • Run what you build. Take a full turn on the Sev1/Sev2 on-call rota, lead incident resolution and post-incident reviews, and set reliability standards across the platform.

Tech stack

  • Angular and React front ends in a micro-frontend architecture Node.js and NestJS services plus Python FastAPI MongoDB, PostgreSQL and graph databases (FalkorDB, Neo4j) RESTAPIs, microservices and event-driven architecture on dapr.io, alongside a legacy estate being modernised. Runs on AWS with auto-scaling Kubernetes, CI/CD via ArgoCD and GitLab pipelines, observability through Prometheus, Grafana, the ELK stack and Jaeger. Playwright for E2E testing, k6 forAPI and load testing.
  • AI- A product-facing AI engine running Claude models via AWS Bedrock with Amazon Titan embeddings, Cohere Rerank and LlamaIndex, backed by MongoDB Atlas Vector Search and FalkorDB graph storage. An internal agent platform built on the Anthropic Claude Agent SDK with container-isolated personas. A programmatic media pipeline combining Remotion, Claude agent sessions and vision QA, ElevenLabs voice synthesis and generative video/image models.

Who You Are

  • A product engineer with strong AI-assisted delivery and real depth in ML and data — retrieval systems, evaluation, data pipelines in production.
  • An applied ML or data engineer with strong full-stack product instincts and a track record of shipping.
  • Has designed and run production AI/ML systems: retrieval and context design, model selection and routing, evaluation and monitoring, cost and latency trade-offs.
  • Has been the technical authority on a platform area: large ambiguous designs, complex production debugging, deployments others rely on.
  • Treats evaluation as an engineering discipline — datasets, metrics, regression gates — not an afterthought.
  • Has made build-vs-buy and fine-tune-vs-prompt calls with real money attached, and can explain them.
  • Comfortable in front of executives and customers can turn ambiguous business goals into direction others follow.
  • Has led incidents and post-incident reviews, and raised a team''''''''s reliability bar.
