Applications Manager
Position Summary
The position will lead customer engagement activities from opportunity identification through concept generation, technical evaluation, RFQ qualification, business case development, tooling nomination, and production launch.
The role is expected to work closely with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, engineering teams, and business development organizations to create sustainable growth platforms based on EQYO's expertise in materials, manufacturing processes, design engineering, and application know-how.
Success in this role requires strong market awareness, technical depth, customer engagement capability, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management & Portfolio Development
- Build and drive the Thermoplastics product roadmap, identifying future growth platforms, adjacent applications, and assembly-level solution opportunities.
- Develop differentiated value propositions and commercialization strategies for products and engineered solutions across target industries.
- Lead new product and application launches, ensuring alignment with market needs, customer requirements, and business growth objectives.
Customer Co-Development & Innovation
- Develop strategic relationships with OEM and Tier-1 engineering teams to position EQYO as a preferred co-development partner.
- Generate and lead customer co-development programs, translating customer challenges into engineered polymer and assembly solutions.
- Conduct technical workshops, ideation sessions, and innovation reviews to identify new business opportunities and application pipelines.
New Product Development (NPD) Leadership
- Lead NPD projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring successful execution through all development milestones.
- Drive cross-functional project governance, aligning engineering, tooling, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Support tooling nominations, prototype validation, and production launch readiness to achieve successful customer adoption.
Application Engineering
- Evaluate customer requirements and define technical solution concepts leveraging EQYO's materials, design, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Lead feasibility assessments and engineering reviews to ensure technical and commercial viability of opportunities.
- Coordinate cross-functional engineering efforts to develop, validate, and industrialize customer-specific solutions.
Business Development Support
- Assess and prioritize RFQs and customer enquiries based on strategic fit, revenue potential, profitability, and probability of win.
- Partner with Business Development and Sales teams to build account penetration strategies and targeted growth programs.
- Drive opportunity conversion from concept to nomination by developing compelling technical and commercial proposals.
Market Intelligence & Technology Leadership
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to identify future growth opportunities.
- Identify and develop new application platforms and market expansion strategies aligned with EQYO's polymer technology capabilities.
- Generate technical whitepapers, application notes, and market insights that strengthen EQYO's position as a technology partner.
Organizational Capability Building
- Build application and market knowledge within the organization through structured training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Develop customer-facing technical content and solution narratives to support business development activities.
- Establish best practices for application engineering, opportunity qualification, and co-development project execution.
