Techno Project Manager
We are hiring a Techno Project Manager with 8-10years years of experience to lead an engineering team, run Scrum, and own on-time delivery. The role sits between engineering and the business, you understand the technology well enough to break down work, challenge estimates and unblock developers, and you report status clearly to leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Team management
- Lead a cross-functional team of developers, QA and designers day to day.
- Assign work based on skills and capacity, and balance load across the team.
- Run 1:1s, give regular feedback, and support hiring, onboarding and performance reviews.
- Resolve conflicts and remove blockers quickly so the team stays productive.
2.Scrum and agile delivery
- Act as Scrum Master: run sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Work with the Product Owner to groom the backlog.
- Track velocity, burndown and sprint commitments, and keep improving the team's process.
- Manage scope changes and dependencies across teams without derailing the sprint.
3.Status reporting and stakeholder management
- Share weekly status reports covering progress, risks, blockers and next steps.
- Maintain project plans, release timelines and RAID logs (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies).
- Present delivery updates to leadership and business stakeholders in plain, non-technical language.
- Escalate early when timelines, budget or quality are at risk, with options to recover.
4.Technical ownership
- Understand the system architecture well enough to break features into tasks and review estimates.
- Join design and code-review discussions, and ask the right questions on trade-offs and tech debt.
- Work with engineers on release planning, CI/CD, environments and production issues.
- Ensure quality through clear definitions of done, test coverage and post-release monitoring.
Required skills and qualifications
- 7–8 years in software, with 3+ years as a Project Manager, Technical Project Manager or Scrum Master.
- Hands-on background as a developer or technical lead (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js or similar), enough to discuss design and code with engineers.
- Good grasp of web and mobile apps, REST APIs, databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and microservices.
- Strong working knowledge of Scrum and Kanban, and tools such as Jira, Confluence or Azure DevOps.
- Proven record of delivering projects on time with teams of 6–15 people.
- Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritisation and risk-management skills.
- B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or a related field (MCA or equivalent also considered).
Good to have
- Certifications such as CSM, PSM, PMP or SAFe.
- Experience in consumer tech, IoT, subscription or D2C businesses.
- Exposure to DevOps practices, monitoring and incident management.
- Experience working with vendors or distributed teams.
