Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Modeler with strong hands-on expertise in Data Modeling, Microsoft Fabric, and Enterprise Data Warehousing. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience designing scalable data models for enterprise reporting, analytics, and business intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data warehousing.
  • Develop and implement Star Schema and Snowflake Schema data models.
  • Design Fact Tables, Dimension Tables, Conformed Dimensions, Bridge Tables, Snapshots, and Aggregate Tables.
  • Apply dimensional modeling principles and Kimball methodology.
  • Work with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, Notebooks, Pipelines, and OneLake.
  • Develop and maintain reusable Power BI Semantic Models.
  • Work with advanced SQL/T-SQL for data modeling, transformation, and optimization.
  • Implement Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Type 1 and Type 2).
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and reporting teams to translate business requirements into effective data models.
  • Support enterprise data warehouse modernization and architecture initiatives.
  • Maintain data modeling standards, documentation, metadata management, and data governance.
  • Optimize data models for performance and scalability.

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in Data Modeling.
  • Expertise in Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Dimensional Modeling.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric Notebooks and Pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, and OneLake concepts.
  • Experience in Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW).
  • Strong knowledge of Fact and Dimension modeling.
  • Experience with SCD Type 1 and Type 2.
  • Advanced SQL/T-SQL skills.

Good to Have Skills

  • Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Power BI Semantic Modeling.
  • Direct Lake and SQL endpoints.
  • Delta Lake concepts.
  • Data Governance and Metadata Management.
  • Performance optimization for large-scale analytical workloads.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong practical knowledge of enterprise data modeling and data warehousing.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric technologies.
  • Ability to design scalable data models for complex business and analytical requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
