Senior Software Engineer
About us
Astermed Technologies builds software for the US post-acute care industry, helping skilled nursing facilities with clinical documentation, MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement. The domain is complex and highly regulated: federal assessment rules, payment models such as PDPM, and strict HIPAA requirements for patient data. Our platform uses AI to synthesise large volumes of unstructured clinical data into structured, accurate and auditable answers for care teams. We're a small, fast-moving team, and our Faridabad office works hand in hand with our US team.
How we build
We're an AI-first engineering team. Our developers work alongside AI coding agents every day to design, write, test and review code, and we measure ourselves by outcomes: shipping faster and more accurately. We're looking for engineers who see AI as a force multiplier and know how to direct it, check it and own the result. We're not looking for engineers who prefer to hand-write everything at the cost of delivery speed or quality.
What you'll do
- Design, build and ship features across our backend services, APIs and web application, working hand in hand with AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code).
- Build and improve the AI systems that turn unstructured clinical text and documents into structured data: prompt and evaluation pipelines, accuracy measurement, grounding output in evidence, and cost control.
- Write correct, well-tested code for clinical and reimbursement logic, where correctness really matters, and review AI-generated code critically and quickly.
- Write and tune complex PostgreSQL: schema migrations, PL/pgSQL, query plans and locking on live databases.
- Integrate with electronic health record (EHR) systems and build reliable data pipelines.
- Own what you ship: CI/CD, Kubernetes deployments, monitoring and production debugging.
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of professional software development.
- Strong, hands-on experience developing software with AI coding assistants or agents (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar). You can show how AI has made you faster and more accurate, and how you verify what it produces.
- Experience building with LLMs (Anthropic, OpenAI or similar): prompt design, evaluation, and getting reliable, structured output from unstructured text.
- Strong backend engineering in Java (17+) and/or Python.
- Advanced SQL and PostgreSQL: migrations, performance tuning and data integrity on large datasets.
- Working knowledge of TypeScript and React.
- Hands-on AWS: EKS/Kubernetes, RDS, IAM. Familiarity with Terraform, Helm or Argo CD.
- Strong testing habits: unit and integration tests (JUnit, Testcontainers, Vitest or similar).
- A quick learner who picks up a new domain, tool or codebase fast and asks the right questions.
- Clear written and spoken English for daily collaboration with a US team.
Nice to have
- Startup experience: comfortable with ownership, ambiguity and shipping fast without cutting corners.
- US healthcare experience: HIPAA/PHI handling, EHR integrations, or MDS / PDPM / post-acute care.
- Experience evaluating AI output at scale: test sets, accuracy metrics and regression tracking.
- CI/CD with GitHub Actions; observability with Prometheus, Grafana or Loki.
- Data pipelines (Dagster, Airflow) and SQL Server.
Work arrangement
- This is an in-office role at our Faridabad office, five days a week. Remote work is only by exception, when a situation genuinely requires it.
- Candidates must be based in or near Faridabad / Delhi NCR, or willing to relocate before joining.
Why join us
- Work at the cutting edge of AI-assisted software engineering, on real production systems.
- Real ownership of software used by care teams in US facilities.
- Hard, meaningful problems: clinical correctness, AI grounded in evidence, and getting the details right.
- A small, senior team where your work is visible from day one.
- [Compensation range and benefits]
How to apply
Apply on LinkedIn or send your CV to mailto:info@astermedtech.com. In a short note, tell us about something you built with AI tools: how you used them, where they helped, and how you made sure the result was correct.
