Business Intelligence Engineer

SwiftB2B
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

Every day, millions of shipments move around the world on data that nobody is looking at in real time. Orders, ASNs, invoices, and tracking events flow between 3PLs, forwarders, brands, and retailers, then get flattened into a status that tells you something went wrong only after it already has.

SwiftB2B exists to change that. We are an AI operating system for global supply chains. One platform where 3PLs, freight forwarders, brands, retailers, and manufacturers can see every item, shipment, and exception as it happens. The platform does not stop at flagging a delay. It works out what the delay costs, weighs the options, and starts the fix.

We built it on 15 years of SwiftAnt’s work in supply chain and EDI technology, and on a team that has spent careers in logistics, retail, and enterprise software. We are a Databricks partner and our data platform runs on the lakehouse.

You own the last mile. Every number the platform produces eventually lands in front of an operations manager, a finance director, or a customer’s CEO, and they decide something because of it. A dashboard that does not support a decision has not been delivered. We want someone who cares as much about what the chart is for as about how it is built, and who can make an on-time-delivery drop impossible to miss in three seconds.

What you will do

  • Build reports and datasets in Power BI from our governed semantic layer, never from raw tables, to a shared design standard. Supply chain KPIs: OTIF, dwell time, exceptions by lane, cost to serve, inventory accuracy, carrier performance.
  • Own the visual language: a KPI movement should be visible without reading a single label. Design for the review meeting, not for the screenshot.
  • Implement row and column security that matches the platform’s governance pattern on Databricks, and prove it by test rather than by assertion.
  • Make dashboards fast: composite models, aggregations, DAX that survives every filter context, capacity and cache strategy. A slow dashboard is one nobody opens twice.
  • Trace a wrong number back to its source field, decide whose bug it is, and escalate with evidence rather than patching around it.
  • Run dashboard UAT with analysts and customers, train users, and write the “how to read this” guide that ships with every deliverable.
  • Build reusable components and templates that other engineers and customers pick up without you.
  • Work alongside our analytics and AI engineers so that what you show on a dashboard and what our natural-language query answers are the same governed number.

What we are looking for

  • Real Power BI depth, in production, for people who acted on the output: data modelling, DAX, composite models, aggregations, deployment pipelines, row-level security. PL-300 is a plus, not a requirement.
  • A sense for visual design. You have opinions about chart types, colour, and layout, and you can explain them in terms of what the reader needs to decide.
  • Strong SQL, and enough of a modern data platform (Databricks preferred, Fabric or Synapse fine) to know whether a problem is yours or upstream.
  • Experience consuming a semantic layer or shared dataset rather than building every report from scratch.
  • A background in supply chain, logistics, retail, or operations reporting is a strong advantage. If you have built a carrier scorecard or a warehouse dashboard, tell us.
  • You can run a UAT session, explain a number to a non-technical user, and write documentation people actually read.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Not sure you tick every box?

Apply anyway. Nobody we have hired matched the list line for line. If you have shipped dashboards that changed what someone did on Monday morning, we want to talk to you. Send one you are proud of, with a sentence on what decision it supported. That tells us more than a polished CV.

Equal opportunity

SwiftB2B hires on skill and curiosity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic. If you need an adjustment at any stage of the process, tell us and we will make it happen.
