ROLE OVERVIEW

The AI Technology Technical Lead will translate the Medical Business Unit’s AI priorities into practical, secure, and high-impact technology solutions. Technical lead will work closely with the Global AI Council Lead, BU functional leaders, OneData, TEIS, and delivery teams to evaluate technologies, define solution approaches, accelerate adoption, and build reusable AI capabilities across engineering, operations, quality, commercial, and support functions.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a high-impact hands on, individual-contributor role for a hands-on AI technical lead who can connect business needs with robust technical execution. The successful candidate will help the Medical BU unlock productivity, innovation, and speed by evaluating technology choices, developing rapid proofs of concept, enabling scalable solutions, and providing technical guidance to project teams and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute technical expertise to the AI/ML roadmap, aligning solution choices with business and engineering priorities.
• Design, develop, and technically guide the deployment of AI-powered solutions, from rapid proofs of concept to scalable, enterprise-grade implementations.
• Partner with engineering, product, and business leaders to identify high-value use cases and accelerate AI adoption across the organization.
• Influence senior stakeholders and navigate ambiguity, balancing innovation speed, business value, security, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Define and apply AI architecture, engineering standards, and technical frameworks to ensure secure, reliable, maintainable, and compliant solutions.
• Provide technical mentorship, conduct design and code reviews, share best practices, and strengthen AI engineering capability across project teams without direct people-management responsibility.Technical Leadership Expectations
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor on AI architecture, technology transformation, and digital innovation, combining mentorship with hands-on involvement in developing AI solutions.

• Influence cross-functional teams through technical credibility, clear recommendations, and hands-on support to deliver innovative solutions with strong execution discipline and customer value.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

• Graduate or postgraduate (BE or M.Tech) in Mechanical/ Electronics/ Computer engineering or related engineering discipline
• Strong understanding of AI architecture, cloud and data platforms, APIs, integration, security, and technology governance.CRITICAL EXPERIENCE
• Experience contributing to AI roadmaps and technically leading AI solution delivery in global, matrixed organizations, with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics, computer science, or a related engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to move from experimentation to enterprise-scale deployment while maintaining compliance and long-term scalability.
• Experience in new product development, medical technology, manufacturing, industrial, or similarly complex and regulated environments is preferred.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence across functions and regions.COMPETENCIES
