Senior Software Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for a senior software engineer who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and takes ownership end-to-end. This role is for someone who has built real products in startup environments, understands trade-offs, and is excited to work close to product, data, and business teams. You will play a key role in building scalable systems, shaping architecture, and shipping features that directly impact customers, RIAs, family offices, and institutional users. Responsibilities: - Design, build, and scale production-grade backend systems and APIs. - Own features end-to-end: from design and implementation to deployment and monitoring. - Work closely with product, data, and AI teams to translate requirements into robust solutions. - Make pragmatic architectural decisions balancing speed, scale, and maintainability. - Improve system performance, reliability, and security. - Mentor junior engineers and raise overall engineering quality. - Take responsibility for outcomes, not just code. Requirements: - 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience. - Strong experience building backend systems (Go / Java / Python). - Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL). - Solid understanding of API design, microservices, and system architecture. - Experience working in a startup or fast-paced product environment. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with incomplete requirements. - Good understanding of data pipelines, async processing, and scalability patterns. Must-Have: - Vibe Coding Mindset: Ability to rapidly prototype, iterate, and debug systems with strong intuition. - Comfortable working with ambiguous or evolving requirements. - Thinks in terms of systems, flows, and outcomes, not just tasks. - Quickly translates product ideas into working solutions. - Strong instinct for identifying edge cases, performance issues, and failure points. - Moves fast while maintaining clarity on trade-offs. - Must-Have Hustler / Startup Mindset. - Bias for action: you ship, iterate, and improve. - Comfortable wearing multiple hats when needed. - An ownership mentality treats the product like its own. - Willing to go beyond job descriptions to get things done. - Learns fast and adapts faster. - Communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Strong bias toward building, testing, and iterating fast (vibe-driven execution). Good to Have: - Experience in fintech, wealth tech, analytics, or AI-driven products. - Exposure to event-driven systems, streaming, or data-intensive applications. - Frontend exposure (React or similar) is a plus. - Experience working directly with founders or early engineering teams.
