About Travel KittyOur app is being built by an external development partner, and our AI capabilities (destination intelligence, itinerary drafting, and — over time — a full in-app travel companion) will be built with a specialist AI development partner. This role is our single in-house point person for both relationships — making sure each build stays on track, and that security and AI-safety basics are genuinely being handled properly, not just assumed.

Key Responsibility Areas• Act as the primary day-to-day coordinator with our external app development partner, tracking progress and flagging issues early

  • Act as the primary day-to-day coordinator with our AI development partner — translating what Travel Kitty needs into clear technical briefs, tracking delivery against our phased AI roadmap, and being able to meaningfully evaluate whether what's delivered actually works as intended
  • Own basic oversight of application security practices — ask the right questions of our dev partner, understand what should be covered, and escalate to outside cybersecurity expertise when needed
  • Own basic oversight of AI safety practices specifically — understand and help verify that safety-critical features (e.g. an AI system correctly escalating a serious issue to a human rather than guessing) are genuinely tested before going live, not just assumed to work
  • Monitor live app performance and be the first responder for technical issues, coordinating a fix with the relevant vendor
  • Report technical and AI status clearly to founders on a regular basis, in plain language, not just technical jargon

Qualifications & Experience• B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, IT, or a related field

  • 1–4 years of experience, ideally including some exposure to working alongside an external development vendor (even as an intern)
  • Genuine, demonstrable exposure to AI/ML concepts — coursework, personal projects, or work experience — enough to critically evaluate an AI vendor's proposals and technical decisions, not just manage the relationship administratively. This is the one qualification worth being firm on, given how central AI is to this company's direction
  • Basic working knowledge of application security concepts — this role does not need to be a security specialist, but needs to know enough to ask the right questions and recognize gaps
  • Strong communicator — comfortable translating technical issues into plain language for a non-technical founder team
