Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deploy OData services (SEGW and CDS/RAP-based) and REST/SOAP APIs on ECC and S/4HANA.
  • Build and maintain integrations between SAP and external systems using OData, RFC, BAPI, IDoc, ABAP Proxy and Web Services.
  • Develop CDS views (annotations, associations) and expose them as OData services.
  • Deliver WRICEF objects end to end: technical design, development, unit testing, deployment and post-go-live support.
  • Write performance-optimised, S/4HANA-ready ABAP (7.4+ syntax, AMDP where needed) and modernise legacy code.
  • Handle API security, error handling, logging and monitoring (Gateway, SICF, SLG1, SRT_UTIL).
  • Support SIT/UAT, resolve defects and keep technical documentation up to date.
  • Take part in code reviews and follow clean-code and transport-management practices. Must-Have Skills
  • 5+ years of ABAP development: OO ABAP, enhancements (BADI, user exits, enhancement framework), BAPI, RFC.
  • Strong hands-on OData: SAP Gateway, SEGW, CDS-based services, CRUD, deep insert and batch operations.
  • Working knowledge of ABAP on S/4HANA: CDS, AMDP, HANA-optimised coding.
  • API integration with external systems: JSON/XML, REST, authentication, HTTP client handling.
  • Experience on both ECC and S/4HANA projects (implementation, rollout, upgrade or AMS).
  • Debugging, performance tuning (SAT, ST05, ST12) and ATC/Code Inspector fixes. Good to Have
  • ABAP RAP (managed and unmanaged scenarios, behavior definitions, Fiori Elements exposure).
  • SAP BTP / CPI integration exposure.
  • Forms: Smart Forms, Adobe Forms.
  • SAP EWM development, barcode/QR code integration, BDC.
  • Domain experience in manufacturing (steel, chemicals, pharma, industrial). Qualifications
  • B.E./B.Tech/MCA or equivalent.
  • SAP ABAP or S/4HANA certification is a plus. Soft Skills
  • Clear communication with functional teams and clients.
  • Ownership and the ability to work with limited supervision across concurrent tasks.
  • Structured documentation and reporting.
