Senior PHP Developer

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Senior PHP Developer. The person in this role will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications using PHP and related frameworks, ensuring code quality, performance, and security. Daily tasks include implementing new features, refactoring existing code, integrating APIs, and collaborating with front-end developers, product managers, and QA engineers. The Senior PHP Developer will review code, provide technical guidance, and help define best practices for the development team. The role also involves troubleshooting production issues, optimizing database queries, and contributing to architecture discussions to support scalable, maintainable systems.

Qualifications

• Strong Back-End Web Development and Software Development skills, with deep experience in PHP and modern frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony).
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and general Programming concepts, including design patterns and clean coding practices.
• Experience with Front-End Development fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and integrating backend services with front-end applications.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), version control systems (e.g., Git), and RESTful API design.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and mentor other developers.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and application security best practices is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in a senior or lead developer role is preferred.
