The ideal candidate will combine a strong hardware and electrical product foundation with hands-on product development experience and a proven record in systems engineering, new product introduction (NPI), and manufacturing readiness. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked extensively on electrical products, particularly inverters, distributed energy resources (DER), circuit breakers, power management, or related grid-connected products.

The preferred candidate will also have substantial experience partnering with Product Management to convert customer, market, regulatory, and competitive insights into product requirements, system architecture, differentiated product concepts, and technology or portfolio roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and retain multidisciplinary engineering teams across Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded/Firmware, Systems, and Verification and Validation disciplines.
  • Drive end-to-end product development by applying systems engineering practices throughout the product lifecycle, from stakeholder-needs definition and concept development through architecture, detailed design, verification, validation, launch, and lifecycle management.
  • Partner closely with Product Management to translate voice of customer, market trends, regulatory needs, competitive intelligence, and business priorities into product requirements, engineering plans, system architectures, and technology roadmaps.
  • Lead or technically guide market studies, competitive product analysis, and benchmarking for electrical products, evaluating architecture, functionality, performance, safety, reliability, connectivity, cost, manufacturability, and product differentiation.
  • Provide technical and organizational leadership for electrical products such as inverters, DER solutions, circuit breakers, power management products, connected electrical devices, and related electromechanical systems.
  • Oversee system architecture, requirements management, interface definition, design trade-offs, design reviews, system integration, verification, validation, product qualification, and technical risk closure.
  • Lead NPI, industrialization, manufacturing transfer, design transfer, production ramp-up, and product launch activities in collaboration with Operations, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, and external partners.
  • Ensure effective cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, Operations, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, and other global stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership in hardware development, embedded systems, system integration, product safety, reliability, and design for manufacturability and serviceability.
  • Manage portfolio and project execution, resource planning, budget, engineering risks, priorities, and stakeholder alignment across global teams.
  • Build a culture of ownership, customer focus, innovation, disciplined engineering execution, continuous improvement, and talent development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • 14+ years of engineering experience, including significant leadership of cross-functional product development teams.

Skills

  • Strong hands-on hardware and electrical product development background, with experience in electrical or electromechanical product design and realization.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams comprising Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded/Firmware, Systems, and Verification and Validation engineers.
  • Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, including stakeholder-needs analysis, requirements development and management, system architecture, interface management, design trade-offs, system integration, verification, validation, and product realization.
  • Strong experience in NPI, industrialization, manufacturing readiness, design transfer, production ramp-up, and product launch.
  • Working knowledge of embedded software or firmware development, system integration, and validation processes.
  • Excellent people leadership, stakeholder management, communication, decision-making, and global collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Extensive product development or engineering leadership experience with electrical products, especially inverters, distributed energy resources (DER), circuit breakers, power conversion, power distribution, energy management, or grid-connected products.
  • Experience applying systems engineering practices to complex, multidisciplinary electrical or electromechanical products across the full product lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated partnership with Product Management in customer and market assessment, product definition, portfolio planning, value proposition development, and product or technology roadmap creation.
  • Hands-on experience conducting or technically leading competitive analysis, product teardowns, benchmarking, and market studies in the electrical products domain.
  • Ability to connect customer needs, competitive insights, market opportunities, and regulatory trends with system requirements, technology choices, product architecture, and engineering priorities.
  • Global engineering team leadership and collaboration across regions, functions, and manufacturing locations.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, product safety, reliability engineering, quality systems, and relevant electrical product standards.
  • Experience with connected products, industrial controls, residential energy, energy transition, or power management applications.
