Manager / Assistant Manager – AI Scientist (Materials Research)

Client : Global specialty chemicals company committed to developing new fields of business through pioneering technologies that improve the environment and enhance the quality of life around the world.

Purpose of role

To accelerate materials innovation and strengthen R&D capabilities across the client global R &D by applying AI, Materials Informatics, data science, and other advanced digital technologies in collaboration with global R&D organizations

Key Responsibilities

✅ Apply AI/ML technologies to solve materials R&D challenges

✅ Develop Materials Informatics solutions and computational methodologies

✅ Lead AI-driven research projects from ideation through deployment

✅ Build automated workflows to enhance research productivity and scalability

✅ Evaluate emerging AI technologies, GPUs, HPC, and cloud computing platforms

✅ Drive Proof-of-Concept (PoC) initiatives and technology scouting activities

✅ Collaborate with universities, research institutes, startups, and innovation partners

✅ Mentor and lead team members while contributing to capability building across the organization

Required Qualifications

🎓 Ph.D. in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, or related disciplines

Essential Experience

✔ Minimum 5 years' experience in Linux-based research/development environments

✔ Minimum 3 years' experience using HPC systems, supercomputers, or large-scale computing environments

✔ Strong Python programming skills for scientific computing, data analysis, and workflow automation

✔ Proven publication record with at least 5 first-author peer-reviewed journal publications

✔ At least 3 publications demonstrating AI/Materials Informatics applications in materials research

✔ Advanced knowledge of materials science, polymer science, computational materials science, chemistry, or related domains

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ Experience as Postdoctoral Researcher / Assistant Professor / Associate Professor

⭐ Experience studying, working, or conducting research in Japan / other global locations .

⭐ Educational background from IITs, IIIT Delhi, or equivalent premier institutions
