Process Model Engineer

An innovative water technology company is seeking a hands-on Process Modeling Engineer to develop physics-based models and dynamic simulators that support AI-driven optimization of water and industrial treatment processes.

Responsibilities

• Build mechanistic process models and dynamic simulators in Python.
• Calibrate and validate models against real-world operating data.
• Develop physics-informed and hybrid models for process optimization.
• Perform parameter estimation, uncertainty quantification, and model validation.
• Collaborate with process engineers and product teams to deliver production-ready solutions.Requirements
• MS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field; BS candidates with 3+ years of relevant experience considered.
• 3+ years of Python scientific computing experience, including NumPy and SciPy.
• Strong foundation in applied mathematics, numerical methods, and optimization.
• Experience building and validating simulation models against real-world data.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently in a distributed team.Nice to Have
• Experience with Pyomo, IDAES, WaterTAP, CasADi, or similar modeling tools.
• Background in membrane processes, water or wastewater treatment, industrial process control, or physics-informed machine learning.
