Senior Backend Engineer – Golang

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Senior Backend Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Golang to design, develop, and scale distributed, high-throughput backend systems.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Go microservices, event-driven architecture, Kafka, payment integrations, database optimization, and production-grade backend engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Go microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Build event-driven systems using Kafka, including Outbox patterns, retries, and idempotency.
  • Design and integrate webhooks with reliable delivery mechanisms.
  • Integrate third-party payment gateways, handling transaction flows, reconciliation, refunds, and failure scenarios.
  • Develop concurrent applications using Goroutines, Channels, Context, and graceful shutdown mechanisms.
  • Design efficient data models and optimize SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Implement caching strategies using Redis.
  • Work with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
  • Write unit and integration tests, conduct code reviews, and maintain code quality.
  • Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and drive root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable backend solutions.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of backend development experience.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Golang.
  • Advanced Go concepts: Goroutines, Channels, Sync primitives, Worker Pools, Context, and Graceful Shutdown.
  • Strong experience in Microservices and Distributed Systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar message brokers.
  • Experience with REST APIs, Webhooks, and Payment Gateway Integrations.
  • Strong SQL knowledge (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
  • Experience with Redis and caching strategies.
  • Working knowledge of Docker, CI/CD, and AWS/GCP.
  • Understanding of JWT, OAuth, and Role-Based Access Control.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Kibana, New Relic, and CloudWatch.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and ownership skills.

  • Go Monorepos and Bazel.
  • API Gateways such as KrakenD.
  • Fintech, Payments, or E-commerce domain experience.
  • OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
  • Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design.
  • Experience with high-volume, high-concurrency systems.
  • Mentoring or team leadership experience.
